Ensure a smooth transition into adult nail trims by beginning them in puppyhood.
Play with your puppys paws regularly and speak with your Veterinarian at their puppy vaccinations about how to trim the nails without injury. The sooner you begin the puppy pawdicure process the better!

Luna and Payton 🫶🫶
These two together are the epitome of heartwarming.
Luna was diagnosed with a mass on her liver and required a challenging surgery to remove the mass.
Luckily we have the very skilled Orthopedic and Soft Tissue Surgeon Dr Grant Belonje MANZCVS (SAS).
Vet Tech Payton loves her girl and it was so difficult for Payton to remove herself and wait as our incredible surgery team got to work and perform this intricate procedure.
From the moment Luna arrived for her surgery she was a calm, gentle angel (and she was really vibing her sedation :) )
Luna is now home with her family and we are so happy for both Payton and Luna.

Thanks to Vet Techs Rebekah and Anemie and all of the MRVH team who cared for the health and hearts of Payton and Luna.

Lucy may not have the soft coat of other cats but she is lacking in nothing.
As a Sphynx cat Lucy is affectionate and chatty. She seeks out human interaction and her purr can be heard miles away. Lucy has spent considerable time with our Dentistry teams and last week her team was Dr Anna and Nurse Sally.
Lucy has resting Sphynx face but if you even so much as glance in her direction she is all about the love and wanting to be with you.
Really good dental health is so important for our feline fantastics so please have your furry funbuddies teeth checked at least once a year.

Have you ever stopped to acknowledge how intelligent you have to be to be become a Veterinarian?
If you think about it for just a second...
Take Dr Kate here for example, Dr Kate is performing a surgery on a fully anesthetised patient. If you yourself have ever had a surgery or had a loved one that has, you know how much faith you have to have in the person holding the scalpel. A surgeon whether it be one that works on humans or animals really has to know what they are doing!
Dr Kate is not only is a Veterinary Surgeon but she is also a Small Animal General Practice Consulting Vet as well as a talented Equine Veterinarian. How does all of that knowledge and skill fit into one brain that then has to send all of that knowledge down into her adept,healing hands?
You then have to take into consideration the huge amount of compassion, benevolence, humanity and humour that Dr Kate carries in her heart. That is just two organs within her own fragile human frame that carry an incredible amount of responsibility.
You cannot put a price on how much you love your dog, cat, horse or guinea pig and yet the veterinary industry comes under constant criticism for having to put a price on all of the skill and education it takes to keep your babies healthy and at home.
We are so proud of Dr Kate as we are of all our Veterinary Team.
We think they are priceless.

We would like to send out a very special Happy 90th birthday to long term client, friend & grandfather of our own Qualified Vet Nurse Stephanie- Mr Don Ross.
An incredible life lived alongside horses & his loving family.
A grandfather to the Ross quads, Don has lived a remarkable life as a horseman, stockman, working with Cobb & Co where he rode from Port Douglas to Melbourne to raise money for the Flying Doctors. (To name but a few of the amazing career successes Don has achieved, always working alongside his beloved horses)
Don has provided horses for many live shows, television & movies as well as rubbing shoulders with the rich & famous over the years including Charleston Heston & John Denver.
Don is a legendary family man and the cornerstone of the Ross dynasty, embodying strength, wisdom, and unwavering responsibility.
He is the guiding force, setting the moral compass and making decisions that shape the family's future. With a deep sense of duty, he worked tirelessly to provide for his loved ones, ensuring their security and well-being.
His leadership is marked by a blend of firmness and compassion, as he strives to pass down traditions, values, and life lessons to the next generation. Dons greatest pride lies in the unity and success of his family, who look up to him with respect and admiration.

Meeting your new babies like Golden Retriever puppy Kevin is an absolute honour and we are very blessed.
Kevin was super chill during his Vaccination Wellness Exam with Dr Aleta and Nurse Sweet Yee.

This handsome lot (pictured below) are just beginning to "scratch" the surface in being an integral part of a study that Sara (UQ research assistant) from the University of Queensland is holding here at MRVH.
With the warmer months fast approaching now is the perfect time to present your best buddy to MRVH and be a part of this crucial skin study.
