These super bright orange ring zoas have been growing patiently for over a year in The Prop Room undisturbed.
Any ID-ea on a trade name? These sure aren’t Eagle Eyes… they remind us of Jungle Juice - except for that little hint of greeny yellow mouth dot.
Either way, it’s time to get these onto some porcelain!

Check out this Acropora we have had cooking up in The Prop Room! It’s the species formerly known as A.tenuis. It started out as completely brown, and we nearly lost the entire colony recently. What a relief we didn’t!
Loving those polyps! Time to frag this one, finally.

What a Millepora! This one came from a local SPS enthusiast who was particularly fond of incredible Millepora. Derek had some of the most sensational Acropora Australia had to offer. It’s so pink it’s almost red!

Recovered this Montipora from the absolute brink of life over the past 14 months. It came to us in a rehabilitation state from a prominent local SPS fragger’s frag room shut down in a state where the tissue was almost non existent (it was just white skeleton) with only the red polyps giving us a clue of what it was. He urged us to give it extra attention but never explained what it was. Over a year later and we realise what this is. We originally had this beautiful Monti in Cam’s DT from 2015 purchased from and collected by .pets.australia! Do you guys remember this?! It was sitting up there on the scale next to a Mystic sunset, a Gold Rush and a Rainbow Monti.
We had started to lose it, STN suspectedly from a mixture of coral warfare, strontium deficiency and vermetids, and we had given this fragger a piece in a desperate attempt to secure the colour morph. Totally forgot about it til now but it’s definitely the same one. Wowza! Thanks Chris! It looks more yellow in person than any kind of chilli pepper variants. Talk about what goes around comes around! A lovely reminder to always share your favourite pieces with your friends because you’ll never know when you’ll wish you had!

Biscuit Starfish - Goniodiscaster scaber - are so attractive that they are a popular invertebrate choice for reef tanks. They eat ascidians, sponges, algae and bryozoans so fare better in an established reef tank containing a range of these food options. They are somewhat challenging because not only are they sensitive to pH fluctuations (like many other starfish) but they do not handle warm temperatures well. While reef tanks are typically fine to be kept 24-26C and can withstand the odd spike above, these starfish will definitely struggle when temperatures escalate. Chillers are a necessity to keep these thriving long term, in QLD especially. #biscuitstar #starfish #goniodiscaster
Decorator crabs are the COOLEST critters at camouflage! They adorn themselves with whatever dominant species they are surrounded by. These two must have been collected amongst a diverse range of sponges! Popular choices for them are softies like zoanthids, clavularia and GSP. They are typically scavengers / detritivores, so considered reef safe in appropriate reef environment.
