🐾 Bats and Pets: What You Need to Know 🦇

The hot weather has distressed many bats, and we’re seeing more cases of pets coming into contact with them. Do NOT touch bats—they can carry Australian Bat Lyssavirus (ABLV).

If your pet has been bitten or scratched:
1️⃣ Keep them away from the bat.
2️⃣ Contact us immediately for advice and treatment.
3️⃣ Call RSPCA 1300 ANIMAL or a local wildlife rescue for the bat.

Certain foods can be harmful to your furry friends. Avoid:
🍫 Chocolates – Contains theobromine, toxic to pets.
🍇 Grapes, Sultanas, and Raisins – Can cause kidney failure.
🥜 Macadamia Nuts – Toxic to dogs, causing weakness and tremors.
🧅 Onions, Garlic, and Chives – Damage red blood cells.
🍖 Cooked Bones – Can splinter and cause choking or internal injuries.

Keep your pets safe and stick to treats designed just for them! 🐕🐈
