Reminder about toxic mushrooms and fungi.

We hope that everyone has managed to stay safe through all this rain we have seen over the last few days 🌧

In the days following, you may notice an influx of wild mushrooms popping up around your yard and home πŸ„ These fungi have the potential to be toxic to your four legged friends.

Common signs of toxic ingestion can include gastrointestinal upsets such as vomiting and diarrhoea, excess salivation, wobbliness or loss of balance and in more severe cases yellowing of eyes and or skin, seizures, coma and even death.

If you are concerned that your pet may have ingested wild mushrooms contact your local vet clinic or after hours emergency clinic for advice ☎️.

Good reminder to keep pups safe during extreme heat.

Keep an πŸ‘€ on your dogs over the next few days as an oppressive heatwave grips large parts of Queensland, with high humidity and unusually high temps.πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯
All animals are susceptible to heatstroke. Keep them hydrated and take active steps to prevent it. Signs may include relentless panting, drooling, agitation, dizziness or lethargy just to name a few. Don’t muck around with heat stress, head to your nearest Vet immediately. Better to be safe than sorry. Learn more about here bit.ly/3ITWuBi πŸ“Έ
