It’s hotter than a sausage dog in a sweater out there, and this heatwave isn’t just tough on us—it’s a real challenge for our pets too.
Here’s how to keep them safe:
☀️ Shade & water: Always provide a shady spot and plenty of fresh, cool water. Hydration is key!
🐾 Paw check: Before walking, feel the pavement. Too hot for your hand? It’s definitely too hot for their paws. Stick to early morning or evening walks.
😻 Cool cats: Fans on, curtains drawn, and if they’ll allow it, a quick rub with a damp towel can help them cool down.
💦 Cooling fun: Kiddie pools, sprinklers, or gentle hose time can be a fun way to cool down your dog—if they’re into it.
🚨 Signs of overheating: Heavy panting, drooling, or sluggishness? Move them to a cool, shady spot and wet their paws, belly, and ears with cool (not cold!) water. You can even wet your own body to help them cool faster. Then, call your vet right away—heatstroke is life-threatening, so act fast.
And if all else fails, follow my lead: dive straight into a pool! 💦

Let’s be real —'oodles and ear infections go hand in hand. Their anatomy and allergy-prone nature make them frequent flyers for ear issues. Educating owners on prevention is key:
✔ Regular cleaning to manage wax and debris
✔ Keeping ear hair trimmed to improve airflow
✔ Addressing underlying allergies with diet or meds
✔ And, of course, treating infections early to avoid chronic damage
They’re adorable, but those ears are a full-time job! 🐾🩺

POV: When you’re trying to share your top 3 vet tips in London, but the Tube is giving serious barking dog energy.
Vet clinics and the London Underground—where you can’t hear yourself think, let alone speak! 🤦♂️😂

When your 'clinic records' were handwritten… in actual paper files! 📂😂 Now it’s all clicks and screens, but some things you never forget—like the thrill of a perfectly organized filing cabinet!

Ever tried to have a quiet day in the clinic with a husky around? Yeah, neither have I. 😂
Some days you come into the clinic thinking it’ll be nice and peaceful… then the husky rolls in and turns the place into a one-dog show. Forget background music, we’ve got live commentary, complaints, and probably a few demands for treats. 🎤🎶
Why have a quiet shift when you can have a husky telling you their life story at full volume? At least they're cute while they do it! 😂

That cup of coffee you made this morning? Yeah, it’s ice cold now☕.
The life of a vet is filled with constant motion, and somewhere in that whirlwind, there's always a cup of coffee. It's the cup you think will get you through the morning, but by the time you remember it exists, it's already cold. Every vet knows the struggle.
You set it down for a quick consult, and next thing you know, you're in surgery or answering calls. The coffee sits there, untouched, growing colder with every patient you attend to. It’s the ultimate symbol of a day packed with caring for pets while your own small needs get pushed aside.
But even though the coffee might go cold, the passion for what we do never does. Vets keep going, fueled by the love for their patients—even if that means sipping an iced latte that wasn't supposed to be one!

Vets always care deeply about the animals they treat, but overthinking can lead to burnout. 🐾
Setting boundaries is key! Here are 3 strategies to help:
1️⃣ Prioritize self-care: Take time to recharge and maintain your well-being.
2️⃣ Set work-life boundaries: Limit after-hours work and focus on personal time.
3️⃣ Delegate when possible: Trust your team to share the load.
Healthy vets = healthy pets. 💙
