Our beautiful Daphne π₯°
As a veterinary team and also pet owners/lovers ourselves, we know how hard it is when your little one is unwell.
Being an integral part of our TFV team, it was an all-hands-on approach with Daph. The whole team helped, both in the lead up to her referral and surgery, and the recovery period following. It was all a bit new, a bit emotional here and there - for us all.
But, Daphne being Daphne, she got on with business! She re-learned how to eat, drink, pick up and play with toys, grab her bed to do a humpybumpy plus she's thoroughly enjoying being vacuumed once more π
We cannot thank the team at BVSC The Animal Hospital enough, for all of their care, advice, expertise and ongoing support. We have our Daphy Doodles because of this access to such amazing care.
Daph is 100% back to her regular, quirky, sweet, and lovable self. Our pets are incredibly resilient, and they constantly amaze us with their ability to 'just get on with things'. Thank you for all the love and support over the last 4 months - Daph, Tahlia and the entire TFV team send lots of love to each and every one of you.
This is beautiful Daphne and she βkicked nose cancer in the buttβ (as written on her bandana). She had a nasal planectomy and maxillectomy performed to remove a squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).
Her primary care veterinarians at Toowong Family Vet referred her following a 2 week history of intermittent left-sided epistaxis (bleeding from the nose) and sneezing. She underwent CT imaging and a nasal mass was identified (see image).
BVSCβs surgery team led by surgery specialist, Dr Katherine Steele and surgery resident Dr Becky Leung performed the surgery to remove the mass at the front of her nose and maxilla to remove the cancer.
Daphne has recovered very well from surgery and wears her bandana with pride. She is pictured here with Dr Becky. Isn't she gorgeous!
