Hello my little Dachprint community.

Has anyone ever experience sudden loss of eyesight? And have any suggestions where to from here?

My little Charlie yesterday afternoon over the span of an hour went from seemingly having no issues, to suddenly blind.

After taking him to the Manly Road Vets in Brisbane, it’s been determined his left eye has glaucoma and a cataract and his right eye has had its lens fall back and now has no vision 😞

To say I’m upset is an understatement. He showed no signs of any sight issues, would chase his balls for hours and bark at birds on the fence.

He’s home now, and they’re saying there’s ultimately nothing can be done, and while he seems in good spirits, I now have to adjust to a blind dog.

Thankfully Henry his companion can see. But is now very confused.

Any tips for adjusting to this new normal? I’ve put a bell on Henry’s collar so Charlie can hear and hopefully help locate him when I’m at work.

It's here, it's early, but let's do this one last time!

For those that missed the previous post, I am having to bid farewell to the Dachprint Community Calendar, however you guys really spoke up (you're the best) and I'm going to create one final calendar for 2025. A love letter to all the pups.

Hello my little Dachprint community.

The time has come to sadly say farewell to this little calendar I have been making over the past 5 years. My work and life are currently undergoing some drastic changes which means my ability to create this calendar moving forward is unfortunately very unlikely.

It's been heartwarming to hear your stories and see your pups grow over the years. Some of my favourites have been included in the calendar since the beginning and I've really felt like we've made something special.

And not to mention we've raised some much-needed funds for Dachshund IVDD Support Australia along the way :)

You're probably wondering why I'm messaging this now, I could have faded off into the distance and closed this page, however, I wanted to gauge people's thoughts on one last hurrah. We may be a few months away from 2025, however, I could potentially create one more, albeit a little early, as a final thank you and goodbye.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments if you guys think it's a good idea, I can see what I can do :)
