Poppy would like to ask everyone to please bear with us over the couple of weeks while the clinic is being painted. We’re still working as usual but there might be some logistical adjustments! We look forward to revealing the next stage of our facelift soon!

Please see this important message from our lovely colleagues at the Animal Emergency Services:

⚠️ Parvovirus Outbreak in SE Queensland ⚠️

Along with our fellow Veterinary community, we are issuing a critical alert to all pet owners in Southeast Queensland.

As we continue to see increasing numbers of the Canine Parvovirus (CPV) outbreaks across SE Queensland, our hospitals would like to ensure all clients and pets that may need to present to us, we have strict guidelines in place to keep pets safe.

To ensure we are recognising any potential cases that present to our hospital, our team will be asking the vaccination history of all dogs, young puppies through to seniors, as this disease can affect all age ranges.

If your dog has any of the following symptoms:
-Severe, bloody diarrhoea: Characterised by foul-smelling, watery stools with blood due to inflammation and damage to the intestinal lining.
-Vomiting: Dogs may vomit undigested food and exhibit dry heaving when their stomach is empty.
-Lethargy and weakness: Dogs can become extremely ill and fatigued, with puppies particularly vulnerable.
-Loss of appetite: Nausea and abdominal pain can lead to refusal of food and water, exacerbating dehydration.
-Fever: High fever often occurs as the body fights the infection
Please contact your veterinarian right away, as early intervention is key.

🏥 We are available Mon - Thurs 6pm until 8am and 24hrs from Friday 6pm until 8am Monday morning.

If you need to visit us and your dog is displaying these symptoms, we kindly ask that you call ahead to notify us of your potential arrival, park in one of our emergency bays in front of the clinic, remain with your dog in the car, call the clinic for assistance and we will come out to you.

If you are unsure of your dog's vaccination history, please contact your regular/family veterinary practice to ensure everything is up to date.
