This is what it’s like having a retriever, they always want to bring you things😂
Great Friday! Big river walk, then to the park, then home for the pool party 🥳 a great end to a fantastic week👏😍🐶
Here is a great example of an adult dog teaching a puppy how to share. It’s never that the adult dog has to win, it’s more about rewarding the right energy and behaviour. There are so many nuances in this but 2 in particular I’d like to share….- note when Jaffa gives Zeta the toy, immediately as she’s calm, no tugging, or verbalising - note when Jaffa walks away, when Zeta starts to yap at her.Zeta is now 3yrs old and one of the best sharers, and now trainers in the business. As good as us humans can be, there is no more powerful influence like there own kind. So when considering a second dog….the golden rule is to always make sure your first dog is a great role model❤️
So many times in my life I’m grateful for the effort I’ve put into my girls. This is the first time we’ve had a visit from a cat. Miss Maple came for a few hours to visit today, and I was so proud of how they were with her🥰
Early morning out with the girls before I start work❤️
Waiting at doors & gates
Part 2 of what us trainers call “Threshold work”
Again, not only do dogs love this, it keeps them safe.
I always recommend clients do this for every door and gate…even the car door😊
Feeding your dog🐶
Feeding time🐶
This is always information I share in consultations as it’s so important to your relationship with your dog. Here are some tips….
• dogs eat after humans
• Dogs must be calm (not fake calm eg: whining, shaking)
• Dogs must be at least a mtr away while preparing food and when you put the bowl down
• Dogs must give you eye contact before you allow to move to the bowl
• If dogs walk away from the bowl it must be picked up straight away (end of meal time for them)
• Monitor feeding from a distance
• No bowl swapping allowed, or even going near the other while eating
• all bowls picked up and put away after meal time
Well, at her ripe old age of nearly 14, I have to give her some slack😂 just love her❤️
Mocha, Jaffa & Zeta’s holiday❤️
Some of you may know I’ve taken a week off to spend with Allan and the fur girls. Working 7 days a week can be hard, and exhausting.
Although I love what I do it’s really important I look after myself. I’ve always said to the team, if I’m not good, I’m no good to anyone…especially my clients and family.
I’ve decided in 2014 I need to make sure I’m taking a break.
Not only that, I’m conscious my beautiful Mocha is getting older, she will be 14 soon, and as much as I don’t want to think about it, I know my time is limited.
Noosa is one of our happiest places to come, not just for Allan and I, but our beautiful girls.
Life is short so we should all try and make the most of it. We’ve all had the best time🥰
What a team!! Every now and again we get perfect conditions to create a clean lake at the park. Well, today was the day!We may all get soaked, but it’s SOOO much fun watching the dogs have such a great time. Environmental enrichment at its best🤩 Hands down the BEST doggy day care & team ever!😂😍👏
Let’s go to the park!
All 36 joined the park fun today!
It’s takes some juggling as we need to turn back to get the puppies, but it’s so worth it😍
Some of the puppies had their first little walk as a pack, which can have its challenges when they think it’s a party on the walk🤦♀️ but they soon learn to settle down and that no adult dogs were going to play….until they got to the park anyway😂🐶
Happy Thursday! What better day for a pool party after our park time🏝️. Huge day to end the doggy school week with 36 fury friends. The lucky dogs that join us really do have the best time🐶😍
Best doggy school ever! -Environmental enrichment -Training & Structure. -Rest & Play. Dogs being fulfilled mind and body, while learning how to be social, polite, and a good member of the community🐶😍🐕
Seems like we are always out in the rain these days. Lucky the dogs love it! (the humans might struggle☔️😂)
Don’t ever think your dog doesn’t want to walk or play in the ran or when it’s wet. It can be one of their favourite things! Just like kids wanting to play in puddles or experience something new. Environmental enrichment is very important for fulfilling for a happy dog…..plus, sometimes the best things in life are free!🐶🥰 ☔️
