Infectious Disease Alert for Kalinga / Wooloowin / Wavell Heights Area

We have now seen at least 5 cases of a very mild coughing syndrome in dogs over the last 2 days - this represents a mild outbreak of a viral cough that is likely to affect dogs for 3-5 days. The cough should be dry, non-productive and your pet should only ever be very mildly unwell. Please if concerned make an appointment with your vet. The likely cause is a virus, and spread is likely aerosol and contagious. Any immunocompromised animals should be isolated. Please keep affected animals at home. Wearing a collar will likely exacerbate the cough.
