THE WANDIN PARK ASSOCIATION INC. – STATEMENT ON THE 2025 EVENT

The Wandin Park Association Inc. met last night to discuss the 2025 Horseland Wandin Park International Horse Event.

The Anker family, along with The Wandin Park Association Inc committee, have given great consideration to the following decision, but we had unfortunately come to the conclusion that due to personal circumstances we will sadly have to cancel this year’s Horseland Wandin Park International Event.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you and appreciate everyone’s support of our event every year.

We promise we aren’t going anywhere, and we will be back bigger and better next year on the 20-22 March 2026, we may even try to bring back the infamous cocktail party to make it up to you all!

We appreciate the continued support of our community and look forward to welcoming everyone back to Wandin Park in 2026.

Christmas tree-eats for goats! 🎄🐐✨

Christmas might be over, but the season of giving doesn’t have to be! Did you know goats absolutely adore pine Christmas trees?

These bare beauties are packed with antioxidants, nutrients, and even medicinal properties that can help fend off pesky parasitic worms. Plus, they’re just plain delicious—and wildly entertaining for us humans to watch the goats enjoying them!

So, instead of letting your Christmas tree languish in landfill, why not give it a second life by donating it to an animal sanctuary near you? It’s an eco-friendly, goat-friendly option that spreads joy all around.

If you’re in cooee* of Lancefield, we’ve made it easy: drop your tree in our dedicated trailer in the carpark. Just remember to remove all decorations and tinsel, and note that we cannot accept any trees that have been sprayed—your thoughtful gesture should be as safe as it is generous!

Want to join the merriment? Our annual Christmas Tree Tour, on Friday, January 10, at 10:00 a.m., is your chance to hand-deliver your tree to our goat crew and enjoy the festive fun in person. Spaces are limited, so book now via the link in the comments.

Condolences to the Anker family 🌹

It is with a heavy heart that the Anker family announces the peaceful passing of John William Anker on the 26th of December 2024 in St Vincents Private Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. John was born in Lilydale Hospital on the 3rd of October 1948 and lived an extraordinary life filled with adventure, laughter and love.

Please join us for a memorial service at Wandin Park Estate in ‘The Grand Marquee’ at 305 Victoria Road, Gruyere on Thursday the 9th of January at 3:30 PM.

I have just received the most WONDERFUL news that has absolutely made my 2024 and could be the best Christmas present a girl could ask for.

From the 1st of January you can now compete EA dressage IN A SIDE SADDLE!!!!!! This is something I have been working incredibly hard on over the last few months and I am so over the moon the rule has been passed. I cannot thank Equestrian Australia enough for now giving side saddle riders a platform to dressage!!

Keep it clean!

🐑 Wondering if you can wash our lambskin products? We expressly recommend it! Regular washing removes sweat and sebum residues from the genuine lambskin.

💡 Your MATTES product will last longer with regular care.

And this is how it's done:
In the washing machine, on a full wash program, at 30°C. Don't be afraid of the washing machine, nothing will happen to the lambskin. On the contrary 💡 Sweat and sebum residues are thoroughly removed.
⚠️ Sweat is aggressive and attacks the lambskin! ⚠️

It is always best to use our MELP detergent for washing. This detergent is moisturizing, which is particularly important for your lambskin!

After washing:
Pull your lambskin saddle pad into shape and ideally put it in the dryer, this will make the lambskin nice and fluffy again. Important: cold air program!
😳 Don't have a dryer? 👉 Then you can simply hang the saddle pad up to dry. Avoid direct sunlight and direct heat sources such as a heater or fireplace! ⛅

Some more tips:
✅ Before washing, you can remove coarse dirt and fur residue from the saddle pad by hand. Do not brush or comb, this is not good for the coat!
✅Never wash light and dark colors together!
✅ You will receive a small bottle of our MELP detergent with every order of a lambskin saddle pad. Save on shipping costs and protect the environment by ordering a supply bottle at the same time.
