It’s happened!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you all remember the footage Mikey Wilson got of the bearded dragon laying eggs in his yard?
WELL…… he put a barrier around them and protected them from predators and kept watch until last weekend when…. They started hatching.
One by one as they emerged, he scooped them up and put them all in a bucket so we could release them.
The caretakers of the imperial lakes were happy for us to release them out there and they are all now off on the biggest adventure of all…. Life.
Mikey, this was all thanks to your efforts mate, you’re an absolute legend, and we must also thank Landcare for letting us release them at such an amazing location.
This kind of thing makes me so happy and I loved getting to see them all go off into the wild.
What do you think of this little stunner?
We’ve just been for a run out to Cockburn to this very hot Eastern Brown that was desperately trying to get into a storage area through a broken window to escape the heat.
He was successful at getting inside of the old pub and the owners did a fantastic job of ensuring they knew precisely where the snake was when I arrived.
Although he was very hot and agitated, it was a relatively straight forward capture and he’s been safely released into a creek a few kms down the road.
Big shout out to the owners for the 6 pack of Carlton Dry which will go down a treat on a hot day like today.
G’day folks
Caught this little ringed brown in Brown St just off Chloride earlier.
This is the second one they’ve had in less than a few weeks.
These little ringed brown snakes are quite fast and can easily escape into the smallest crack so they’re quite easy to lose but the residents did a great job and managed to put a bucket over him which made it a very easy catch.
Super quick release video from the other day. This Mulga was a chunky one and had amazing colours!!
I’ve sent Zac out to make the last catch of the year!!!
This pretty little Mulga was making a pest of himself in Chloride Street near Cummins Street. He will be safely released later this evening.
Thank you for all your support this year folks and we hope you all have a happy and successful new year.
G’day folks, the big fella has been sighted again just now.
He was seen going across Patton Street towards Queen Street.
Please let everyone know to keep an eye out for him today as it seems he’s on the move.
We thought the big Western Brown that’s been sighted several times in Morgan Street had surfaced again.
We’ve just had a call to an unknown tail seen going into a storm water outlet in Allendale Street.
It turned out to be this pretty little sand monitor. Not knowing whether he was stuck, we put a hose on to see if we could flush him out. He came out peacefully and was safely released back onto the residents property as they were happy to have him stay.
Nice easy job for an extremely hot afternoon.
I cannot emphasise enough how much I love it when you folks send in photos and videos of the awesome animals you see or coexist with in your yards.
Kym Neal-Zarins has a pair of Eastern Blue Tongues in her yard which she feeds strawberries and banana on a regular basis. AND… she actually seen them mating recently so maybe she will have some babies running around in 3-4 months.
Eastern blue tongue lizards are live bearing and can actually have up to FIFTEEN babies!!!! So she will certainly know if they breed successfully.
Kym you’re a legend and we cannot wait to get updates on this pair. Thank you so much!!
Hi folks, meet Phillip. Hopefully he won’t be trying to catch a cab back into town anytime soon
It’s been a while since we’ve shown you these guys.
One of my girls is about to lay eggs
