Join us for a lighthearted look at the magnificent Hawkesbury River and its more isolated residents as we deliver, on behalf of Australia Post, the mail and other daily essentials (the odd bottle of whiskey/cases of wine...) Our coffee is real, our tea is hot, and our famous ANZAC biscuits are home-made daily to Grandma's recipe! The delivery route covers about 40km of the lower Hawkesbury River.
We travel as far upriver as Marlow Creek, just short of Spencer were the road returns to the river bank. Our stops include Dangar Island, Kangaroo Point, Milson Island and Bar Point on the way up, & Fishermans Point and Milsons passage on the way back. Maps are available on board. This section of the Hawkesbury River you will be exploring marks the dividing line between Sydney and the beautiful Central Coast. This is the last remaining mail boat in operation in Australia, and the journey offers a true "step back in time" experience with its old-school snail-mail delivery service to the locals (and their dogs) who come to meet us on the wharves. Only an hour north of Sydney! The cruise departs daily every weekday except Public Holidays from the Brooklyn Public Wharf at 10am, returning at approximately 1.15pm
