🪷 LOLA UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED 🪷
Timothy Brooke-Hunt adopted Lola from us close to three years ago. Tim and Lola shared a most beautiful loving relationship in that time. Sadly, we say VAIL to wonderful Tim who recently completed the process of voluntary assisted dying due to MND.

Tim waited until we had found another loving home for Lola, and to avoid her feeling she had been abandoned by Tim, she lay peacefully under his legs for the full two hours of the assisted dying procedure.

We then picked Lola up and delivered her to new mum Megan and her dog Missy.

Lola has always been an extremely well loved dog, but to her detriment, she was never trained or socialised with other dogs by her original owners. This led Lola to display a complete lack of manners around other dogs, manifesting in quite unpredictable conduct (even after significant behaviour modification training). She has however mellowed and become a very well trained dog in all other aspects.

Megan is a most amazing woman who has always rescued the dogs no one else wants. She picked Staffy x ‘Missy’ up off the streets where she was so forsaken; hairless and scabby due to horrific mange and fighting for her life amongst other abandoned street dogs. Missy is now well, healthy and has learnt to cohabitate nicely with other dogs due entirely to Megan’s efforts.

Megan has now welcomed 9yo Lola into her home and heart and with her patience and more effort, Lola now enjoys yet another loving home together with on-leash walks and off-leash runs with her new best mate Missy – an extraordinary accomplishment.

Massive thanks to Megan & Missy and everyone else involved in Lola’s rehabilitation and training (particularly Tim and Lissie the Furry Dogmother) 🙏💖🙏

UPDATE: 💃🏽🎉🤸🏾‍♂️ The lovely Thelma is booked in for surgery with Lauren from Northcoast Vets on Monday 👍
She will then recover and be cared for by the wonderful and 3-legged-dog-experienced Heidi from Heidi’s Houndstays until she is ready to come have fun at our open-air shelter.
Keep an eye out for Thelma’s adoption profile in approximately one month’s time

URGENT!! 🙏🙏
THELMA needs a FOSTER-CARER

This poor darling girl is in desperate need of some help and care.

She is a 2-3-year-old English Staffy x with a sweet nature and is seemingly really good with other dogs.

She has been ABANDONED and after x-rays at Northcoast Vets we can surmise she was hit by a car several months ago where she sustained an imbedded piece of metal in her front right leg. She has since endured extreme pain as the piece of metal slowly destroyed the nerves in her leg rendering it completely useless.

She needs to have the leg AMPUTATED (and we will have her desexed at the same time).

Thelma is very able on her remaining three legs so her recovery will only take 2-3 weeks and she will then be out of pain and running around soundly with a big smile on her face.

CAN YOU HELP US OUT? Thelma needs a loving home where she can be kept quiet for 2-3 weeks post-operatively. Please contact Shell on 0458461935.

SCOOTER UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED
Although little 4yo Wire-Haired Jack Russell ‘Scooter’ had been well loved, he had lived a pretty austere and arduous life as a farm dog, surviving many associated hardships.

One of his favourite things in life was hanging out and playing with other dogs. We decided he may love a change in lifestyle together with having his very own doggo playmate.

Michelle, who is now completely besotted with Scoota, also has 4yo Jack Russell ‘Oscar’. Initially, Oscar didn’t want a bar of the newcomer, but extremely smart and social Scoota soon remedied that with sheer determination and his sparkly personality. The two are now the bestest of buddies enjoying their super fun walks and beach-time together.

Scoota settled into a more suburban lifestyle with ease; he can barely contain his pleasure at being allowed inside and up on the soft comfy luxurious sofa where he relishes his cuddles with Michelle and stretches out like a resplendent Prince with best mate Oscar.

Onya Scoota! What a little champion 👏🥰

BERTIE ADOPTION
Bonzer ‘Bertie’ is a healthy 9-year-old desexed male Pug x Beagle (Puggle).

Poor Bertie has endured a very traumatic life. He was recently rescued by Maggie, who has turned his life around. She gave him a loving stable home and slowly weaned him off a cocktail of anti-anxiety medications. He is now a happy, relaxed, sweet natured and very affectionate little ripper.

Bertie is excellent at walking on-leash, is very playful and sociable with other dogs, great with children and doesn’t suffer from separation anxiety.

He loves to snuggle and get tummy rubs from his humans but due to his stubborn Beagle nose can get distracted when off-leash. His recall is definitely improving however.

❗Bertie’s one issue, which seems to be deeply entrenched, is dog-food aggression around other dogs. For this reason he is now looking for a loving companion or family with a fenced yard who want an only dog. Bertie will delight with his charming, friendly and playful nature.

Please contact Shell on 0458461935.

BUNDY UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED
Do you remember the poor dog who was found dismayed, bewildered and abandoned on Pottsville Beach over 9 months ago?

That dog was 4yo Staffy x Whippet ‘Bundy’.

He had been shoved from post to pillar for most of his life. He was terrified of men and very shy around other dogs. When rescued, Heidi from Heidi’s Houndstay very kindly fostered him for over 3 months while we tried to find him a stable and loving home.

We are delighted to report that Bundy has been successfully adopted and living with Darren and his gorgeous dog-adoring daughter for over 6 months.

Bundy now enjoys a very comfy home life, regular exercise, which includes several beach excursions a week, has become playful with other dogs and is trusting Darren more and more each day.

He absolutely adores Abbey, never leaves her side and would protect her with his life.

Yay for Bundy!!

LUNA the Poochon UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED
Little Luna’s previous owner was concerned that due to her increasing work hours, Luna was “losing her zest for life” left at home on her own for long periods of time.

Bred as a companion dog, it was no wonder adorable yet feisty little Poodle x Bichon Frisé ‘Luna’ was struggling. We set about finding her a companionable and exciting new lifestyle to suit her social and spirited temperament.

Enter Hannah, her dog-loving son and their young Shoodle ‘Suki’.

Luna now revels in all the love and care, huge daily walks and tons of fun and playtime with her new best friend Suki.

Absolutely thrilled to see Luna looking so happy and vibrant 🙏🤸

BARNEY ADOPTION
Rescued from the pound; beguiling, bighearted, beaming ‘Barney’ is a 2-year-old (possibly older) Cattle Dog x German Short Haired Pointer.

Barney has now been microchipped, vaxed, flea/worm/mite/tick treated and desexed and is recovering beautifully. He has stolen all of our hearts as one of the sweetest, softest natured dogs ever!! He is well behaved, listens to commands, is somewhat timid but friendly around other dogs and loves attention and affection from humans. He isn’t fazed by neighbouring cattle and we haven’t heard him bark yet.

Did I mention that Barney is GORGEOUS!! 😆🥰

He deserves a devoted and caring companion or family who will be rewarded with his loving loyalty. Barney will be a smart and quick learner who will enjoy an active lifestyle.

If you have a large yard or live on property and have the time to put into Barney, please contact Shell on 0458461935.

PETAL ADOPTION
Rescued from the pound, petite precious pretty ‘Petal’ is a 9-month-old female Border Collie x Kelpie (with a touch of Staffy? and Foxy?)

Petal is an absolute little darling; excellent and playful with other dogs of all shapes and sizes, calm around cattle, not a barker and very affectionate.

She will need lots of training, exercise and stimulation. She is scheduled for spaying in 6-8 weeks (after her first heat has completed).

If you have the time to put into Petal and are an active person or family with a fenced yard, property or hobby farm, Petal will make for a happy, bubbly, sweet and clever addition to your lives.

MUNDY (now MONTY) UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED
Merry but mixed-up ‘Mundy’ possesses some mystifying mannerisms, which is why he was running out of options when we were asked if we could rehome him.

He’s been a well loved and trained dog, but his unpredictable behaviour towards other dogs can be frightening and his triggers are mostly unfathomable.

Lyn & Charlie were deeply grieving the loss of their previous CAWI dog who they adopted nine years ago. Sadly, she had suffered a massive heart attack and died in her sleep 🌈

They were desperate for another canine companion and offered to meet Mundy, even with his muddled and sometimes startling behaviours.

Mundy/Monty settled in with Lyn & Charlie instantly and a beautiful bond ensued. After witnessing a couple of Monty’s outlandish deeds, they decided for their and Monty’s sake that he would be happier and safer confined to their large and lovely fenced property, where they say Monty is a perfect angel.

Monty is one very fortunate boy and it’s been a pleasure to witness Lyn & Charlie’s tears transform into sizeable smiles and lots of laughter in the company of their disorderly but otherwise delightful new companion 🙌

MILLIE (now MOLLIE) UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED
Three years ago we rescued 8yo little Jack Russell Terrier ‘Millie’ and her two big male pups (x Husky’s 🤔🤭) after they had all been abandoned on a property and left to fend for themselves.

They had become quite a formidable pack, having to hunt and find their own food to facilitate their survival. In order to break their cycle of killing, we split them up and settled them into three separate wonderful new homes.

At the time, Faye was thrilled to adopt little ‘Millie’ and has thoroughly adored their three years of companionship. Due to Faye’s deteriorating health, she recently made the heart breaking decision to surrender Millie back to us so we could find her yet another loving home (and Faye could relax knowing her little darling was happy and cared for).

We contacted John & Nancy who had been waiting for their perfect dog for a long time. The moment Millie arrived, they were smitten... and so was Millie!! She trotted around their apartment like she’d been there forever; she gazed up into their faces and kept sitting up on her haunches begging for pats. It was quite literally a match made in heaven.

Now 11-years-old, Mollie is enjoying her perfect scenario; the constant company of John and the exciting walks and beach time with Nancy.

John recently said “Thank you so much Shell for bringing Mollie into our lives. All three of us feel like we’ve won the lottery!”

TONY (now ARCHIE) UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED
Robyn & Jeff have always had Jack Russell Terriers on their beautiful Hinterland farm; however four years ago they very kindly adopted a BDR/CAWI dog who was in desperate need of a new loving home. Beautiful Banjo was a Staffy x Heeler aged 9-years at the time; he enjoyed over four years of sublime life on their farm and completely stole the hearts of Robyn & Jeff. Sadly, a few months ago he was diagnosed with inoperable cancer and was compassionately euthanized 🌈

Robyn, and particularly Jeff, has been grief stricken since Banjo’s passing, so when we rescued teeny we**ie ‘Tony’ the Jack Russell x Chihuahua puppy, they kindly offered to foster him.

Even though Tony/Archie is the cutest sweetest little guy, he possesses an extremely feisty, head-strong and rebellious side and he’s even more than happy to face-off with the farms huge cattle 💪😆

Now formally adopted, it’s no surprise that Archie has become the most adored and pampered little rascal, who not only Lords it over the farm but equally enjoys cuddle time in the arms of Jeff & Robyn and the rest of the family.

🥰 JULIAS & SCOUT ADOPTION 🥰
Soft, sweet, sensitive and sprightly; Julias and Scout are both 8-month-old desexed male Cavoodle’s.

They have been together since birth and share a healthy, playful bond. For this reason we will endeavour to initially find them a home together.

JULIAS has more of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in looks and temperament. He is self confident, cheerful, friendly, inquisitive and affectionate.

SCOUT has the definite Cavoodle look and is very soft natured, somewhat timid but equally as playful and affectionate.

These boys are companion dogs. They will need a fenced yard and plenty of quality time with their humans. Continuing socialisation, exercise, mental stimulation and training are a must to avoid bored yapping anxious dogs.

For adoption enquiries, please contact Shell on 0458461935.

🐶 SCOOTER ADOPTION 🐶
Sweet little rascal ‘Scooter’ is a 3-year-9-month-old desexed male wire-haired Jack Russell.

Scooter is an absolute trooper. He’s been an outside farm dog his whole life and has endured and survived the many trials and tribulations associated with that kind of life.

He’s a sweet natured, playful little chap who loves the company of other dogs and can be sociable with cats, rabbits and cattle.

Scooter enjoys the freedom of farm life but can be a wanderer. We would love to see him homed on a fenced property, where he will have another doggie companion or a human who could provide him with lots of time, affection and training (including house-training).

For adoption enquiries please contact Shell on 0458461935.

LUNA ADOPTION
Sweet friendly little Luna is a 1-year-old desexed female Poochon (Poodle x Bichon Frisé) who is looking for a new home where she will gleefully welcome lots of time and interaction with her companion or family.

Luna is a healthy, affectionate, clever, happy, charming little girl who can also be quite lively and feisty. She loves to play and interact with other dogs and is also pretty energetic and will need a couple of walks per day for both physical and mental stimulation. She loves the beach.

Luna is house-trained (but will need to be weaned off using puppy-pads indoors), is non-shedding and will need regular grooming.

If you have a safe fenced yard, can spend lots of quality time with Luna (work from home or retired), have gentle children or another small active dog, please contact Shell on 0458461935.

Try not to smile…….
Did you know that Boxer dogs are often considered funny because of their playful, energetic, and sometimes goofy personalities. They have a lot of energy, which they express through enthusiastic jumping, zoomies, and playful antics. Boxers are known for making silly facial expressions due to their distinctive faces, and their tendency to "box" with their front paws when they play adds to their charm. Their natural curiosity and high intelligence can also lead to humorous situations, especially when they get themselves into playful mischief!
