Breed Section Wrap-up plus very big thank yous!
Whilst we were slightly lower on numbers, we certainly put on a great show.
Firstly big thank you to those who came and competed and hopefully had fun with their horse or pony. We had a fantastic turn and the quality of horses that attend was very high. Special congratulation to our top winners COC Stallion Kerry Treasure with Jejucha My Braveheart, COC Mare Katie Humphries with Marlyn Park Milady, COC Gelding and SOS Horse Deanne Ludham with Esquire, SOS Pony Asha Dwyer with NEP Candy De Luxe.
Margaret's Choice was a tough pick this year, with losing Mum's Horse (Bohemian Cascade) this year made even more special, Margaret's Choice went to an Arab Mare, Top Fancy Mira.

To our judges, I had great team of judges that worked extremely well together and kept the day moving.
To my extra helpers Jessica and Stephanie that helped me all day keeping me organised, Thank you. Thank you to Michelle from Morrison Photography Equine for being our photographer for the day, I look forward to seeing all the photos.
Again we were joined by the ladies from Riding For The Disabled Association Australia South West Centre, we are so grateful that you come to help us on the day (even answering my last minute call for an extra helper).
Please remember to send out your thank you cards to our sponsors, we have a great group of local small and bigger businesses that sponsor us every year. Kismet Park, Ovarit Jumps, Bunbury Mazda, Outback Arabians, Witherin Park (Kerrily Worden), Aurum Park Retirement Agistment (Nikki Goedhart), Chrissy May Photography- Christine Curciarello, Balance with Bowen, Maximus Metallica, SKT Breaking and Pre-Training, ASHA WA South west Branch, Michelle Priestley, The Rose Hotel, Olmies Organics & Yoni Spa, Dardanup Rural, The VitalityFit Retreat, Dr Steve Thomas, MLC and Readon Park (Donna Reader). Please send on FB messages to these people and businesses, they do really appreciate your messages.
Thank you to all that were "behind the scenes" Leanne for looking after breakfast for everyone and the lunches and morning teas for all the judges, knowing you were there took so much pressure off Tiffany and I. To Heidi, Julianne and your team for help setting up. To Linda and Steph, you do so much to not only help Tiff about help me to get set up on the day and prior to the event, I couldn't do it without your help. Plus those on the Brunswick Show Committee that give us the time, space and resources we need to run the show.
Lastly but certainly not least, Thank you Tiffany and congratulations on another great show. It is always a pleasure to work with you, I am not sure I would still be running this event if it wasn't for you on the other side of the oval.
We already have plans for 2025, maybe with a whole new program.
Save the Date... Sunday 26th October

🐴❤️ APPRECIATION POST - SHOW HORSE & SHOW-JUMPING ❤️🐴

And that’s a wrap for the 2024 Horses at Brunswick Ag!

In a climate where numbers at shows are dwindling and some shows are removing the equestrian sections, I’m so grateful and thankful to all of you who show up to support our show and compete. As long as you keep showing up, we’ll keep doing our thing!

Firstly, Christine it’s such a pleasure and a privilege to do this event with you. Thanks for putting up with my erratic phone calls (life with a tornado toddler) and stepping up when I needed it. I love that we finally have a good photo of us together – it only took us like 8 years!

Thank you to my folks, Mossy and Linda from Outback Arabians – not only do they help me out in the lead up to and on the day, but they are also on the Brunswick Show committee and help with the busy bees and general running around. This year was particularly chaotic as they housed us from Friday til Monday, and let me tell you one daughter, four granddaughters and one horse come with a lot of luggage! 🤣

Thanks to Bree from Holistic at Heart, who came on as a sponsor this year but also came to help out. I think you spent most of your time containing the tornado 2-year-old, which is a job not for the faint hearted! I appreciate you so much, thank you.

Thank you to all the many hands that help both before the day and on Sunday from the Brunswick Show Ag Society – they are usually all very tired from the day before, but still show up to help us prep the oval in the early hours of the morning and continue cleaning up over the course of the day. It’s by their support that we can successfully run the Horses at Brunswick Ag.

Once again, thank you to the amazing men and women from the Riding For The Disabled Association Australia South West Centre. Every year we can count on them to show up and help with pencilling, picking up poles, marshalling, handing out ribbons etc. We appreciate you so much, and we’d really be lost without you. Good, reliable volunteers are hard to find!

Thank you to Leanne, Jo and Tony for working in the canteen making egg and bacon burgers, plus preparing all the food for our judges, officials and volunteers. We all loved our lunch bags, and it was so nice to know that you guys had it all figured out and under control!

Thank you to the food vans who stayed for Sunday – I had a particularly delicious chai latte, such a treat!

Big thanks to our wonderful judges Tracy Hockley, Shannon Mitchell, Kim Thomas and Phil Hargreaves, plus Phil’s 2IC Debbie. I love that our judges take the time to offer help and feedback to riders, to encourage them and help them improve.

Thank you to Michelle from Morrison Photography for capturing some of our show-jumping and the Top Score event, plus taking a couple of snaps of Christine and I before we both collapsed for the evening!!

Once again, thanks to our fantastic sponsors: Mike and Judy Reeve, JP Norton Memorial Trophy, Maud Stanley, Alison Rutten in Real Estate, Brunswick Junction Lions Club, Merrilyn Gollan, Outback Arabians, Horseland BUNBURY, Holistic at Heart and Jim and Monica Offer. If you won a Championship award, please fill out the card and send to your relevant sponsor!

Thanks to Mick and Jackie from Complete Medical Solutions for being there from event start to event finish – thankfully you weren’t needed! It was lovely to meet you and chat, and at least it was a pretty nice day to enjoy watching some jumping!

I’ve already started making some programme changes for next year whilst it’s fresh in my mind, so if you have any suggestions or requests, please just send them through via PM.

I hope you all had a wonderful day, and we look forward to hosting you next year! ❤️

I wish I could take a photo of the many cars we have packed to the hilt with stuff for tomorrow 🤣

Just a bit of housekeeping.

Firstly - we have many amazing volunteers who contribute to making your day a fun and successful one. From gate openers to pole crew to pencillers to marshals to tea and coffee deliverers! Please be kind and patient, not all of our volunteers are seasoned horse people but they are taking time out of their days and from their families to help host you and make Horses at Brunswick Ag a fantastic event. We are so grateful to all the hands behind the scenes that make the event work. So please, use your smiles and thank a volunteer!

Gates open at 6.30am. All floats MUST come in from the gate on George Avenue. Please clean up after yourself where you park your floats - including a yard, if you use one. There will be bins provided for poo. Float parking is to the south end - when you pull into the gate off of George Avenue, you can turn left to go towards the horse yards, or you can park off towards the right. Please be courteous with parking your floats.

The BREED tent is on the south end of the oval. The HACKING/SHOW-JUMPING tent is located in the middle of the oval. If you win any place in a class, you will receive a TICKET. You need to take your ticket to the relevant tent to pick up your prize money or your trophy.

There will be bacon and egg burgers available at the canteen (cash) between 7am and 8:30am. There will be food vans and a coffee van on site.

If you have any queries, issues or questions, please don't hesitate to grab Christine at the Breed Tent or myself (Tiffany) at the Show Horse/Show-jumping Tent.

Most importantly, have a WONDERFUL DAY! Drive safely tomorrow morning and have a fun time. Thank you for supporting your local Ag show! 🐴❤️

Sponsor shout out!

Another first time sponsor - thank you Alison from Alison Rutten in Real Estate. If you're thinking of selling your home and not sure of what it is worth in the current market, or if you're looking for your next property why not give her a call. Big bonus - she's a horse girl, so if a horse property is what you're after or what you're selling, you can be sure she's got the horsey scoop!

Alison is sponsoring the jackpot for the Top Score prize - a whopping $250 cash to the winner.

Be sure to show her some love and gratitude for sponsoring our event. ❤️
