Good morning everyone,

Well, finally all is back to normal at the kennels and life goes on .

I would like to sincerely thank everybody that has sent so many wonderful messages of support and love of both the loss of my son and the situation with the fires.

It has been an incredibly sad and stressful time in December .

The support we have received has been really helpful in getting through this horrendous month.

I’m sorry, I didn’t respond to everybody, but please know , every message has meant a lot.

Time will help ease our pain and hopefully 2025 can bring us some happiness .

Wishing everybody a wonderful New Year , enjoy it with your loved ones and please stay safe.

Good morning

All kids are now home and back into their normal accommodation .

We are now open and taking in anybody that has a booking and anyone that was displaced and wishes to return for the remainder of their stay.

Fire update

Everything went much better than expected!! Thank goodness.

The property is safe.

We will be bringing all the kids back home tomorrow morning.
They are all well and looking forward to getting back to their normal accommodation.

The biggest thank you to Kim and Mark for their hospitality, opening their home to us for the last few days.

To all the first responders that have worked tirelessly over the last week, thank you.
You are worth your weight in gold!!

To our staff, we would be lost without you. Thank you.

I have no idea where all the writing went when I posted the video.

We had our first night in our safe Haven , all the kids have done really well and have been very cooperative.

Although the dogs are crated They’re getting several walks through the day and have the ability to have a good run in the early morning and in the evening when it’s cool.

The Boarding Kennels property is still safe at the moment but it has just had an upgrade to watch an act.

Will keep everybody posted as the day goes on .

There will be some very grumpy large humans remaining to protect our property from the fires and anything else that tries to interfere with our lives.

Fire update : Monday 23rd December

We attended the Fire update meeting at our Bullengarook facility this evening.

Unfortunately, nothing has improved with the weather forecast and Thursday the 26th will be a catastrophic Fire day.
The fire is still burning and as it is only 1 km away, when the wind turns North It will no longer be safe to remain at the kennels.

We will be evacuating all animals off site Wednesday 25th of December .

We have a safe haven to go to that has the facilities to ensure that we can take good care of the animals while evacuated.

Depending on the outcome on the 26th we are hoping, if the situation is safe to return back to the Boarding Kennels on the 27th of December.

We will keep you updated over the next few days .

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers that had their bookings cancelled over this period, you have all been wonderful and extremely understanding.

For those customers that have picked up their dogs in the last few days and those that have changed their holidays midstride to come and collect their animals we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

For those that still have animals with us that will be evacuated , we know you are worried but we will do everything in our power to keep them all safe and well.
We understand how difficult it is for you being so far away from your family members.

⚠️ BULLENGAROOK FIRE - COMMUNITY UPDATE ⚠️

➡️ In response to the ongoing fire situation in Bullengarook, an Emergency Relief Centre has been established at Kyneton Racecourse (44 Campaspe Place, Kyneton) as the go-to location for any residents in need of assistance, including those who have been advised to evacuate.

This location is strategically chosen to be able to provide services such as toilets and showers, as well as having ample space for vehicles, pets and horses.

➡️ A community meeting will be held at the Bullengarook campus, Macedon Ranges Specialist School (705 Bacchus Marsh Road, Bullengarook, VIC, 3437) at 6pm tonight (Saturday 21 December 2024), where emergency services will provide an update on the fire situation and response.

We will endeavour to try to support a livestream of this meeting in some form for those who cannot attend in person, subject to some logistics to be confirmed.

URGENT NOTICE
FIRE UPDATE

Private emails are in the process of being sent to our customers :

I am sure everyone has been monitoring the fire situation in Bullengarook.
We have had a meeting with fire control this afternoon and unfortunately the news is not good, regardless that the weather
for the next few days is favourable for fire containment, they have told us they will not be able to have the current fire fully out by Christmas day.
The weather is due to change to a high fire danger day on Christmas day with the winds swinging
back around to a Northerly, this means the fire front will be blowing directly in our direction. High winds are
expected on Christmas day 45klm per hour and the temperature exceeding 30 degrees.
Boxing day will be 40 degrees with winds building through the day to 90klm per hour with gusts of up to 100klm per hour.
Our current information is that Boxing day will be a day of CATASTROPHINC FIRE DANGER. Likened to Black Saturday conditions.
The winds will be Northerly, again blowing directly at the kennels.
Therefore, at the worst possible time of the year, we have no choice but to advise everyone that we will not be able to accept
any animals into the kennels or the cattery that will require staying over the 25th and 26th of December, if all goes well, we will be able to accept
them from the 27th of December.
We totally understand the issues this will cause everyone, however our primary concern must be for the safety of all the animals, as well as our staff.
We have already reduced the numbers of animals currently in our care and we do have the ability to evacuate these if needed. They are all currently safe and well.
Once again, we are so sorry that your plans are being thrown in to disarray, this decision has not been made lightly.

Emergency evacuation has been ordered on Bullengarook again. The wind is currently blowing away from the kennels.
We have everything in place .
All animals are very well and safe .

Good morning everyone

We are still all well and safe .

Unfortunately, the Emergency app has not updated since 9:42 pm last night .

Our understanding is that the fire is still going and we are still under a Watch and act.

The wind is blowing away from us and with cooler conditions, we are being told that it should be under control later today.

If you are due to come in this morning and have the ability to wait until this afternoon I would request that you do so.

Will continue to update as soon as we get some official notification.

Fire update

Everyone is safe and well.
We have been downgraded to a watch and act.

The wind died down and has given our firies a bit of chance to put it out.

Will keep everyone updated.

Thank you to all our customers that responded to our precautionary evacuation.

Thank you to all the fire fighters and the CFA operations . Forestry and the helicopter pilots. We love you all.

First time in 23 years we have had to activate our plan .

Hope it’s another 23 years!!

Good afternoon

Fires in Bullengarook

We are currently in no immediate danger, however we have invoked our evacuation plan as a precaution.

We have contacted many of our customers that have already either collected their animals or on the way.

For those that cannot get back to us, please do not worry. We have facilities here for Fire protection..

All our fire pumps are currently in operation and all our water pumps are currently on.

The wind has changed direction which should take us out of danger altogether.

Thank you to all those that have reached out. We will be in contact with you if we need further assistance.
