We are back online and operational!

Thank you so much for everyone's patience!

We look forward to hearing from you all again 😁

Unfortunately this afternoon we have lost all internet and phone lines to the clinic.

We are working hard to get this resolved but we would like to apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.

Both our clinics are affected!

We have one line currently diverted to a mobile for all emergencies, but this may affect our after hours diversion tonight.

For all non emergencies please feel free to email us so we have a line available for emergencies and we will get back to you as soon as we can and we hope to have this sorted for business tomorrow. 🤞

🚗Road Works & Access to the Clinic🚗

Main Roads are going to be putting in some Traffic lights and access lanes to the clinic (yay!) across from us and College Grove which will be beginning 18th May. - follow main roads signs
But that does mean some changes for you, our valued clients accessing our hospital. The main entrance is going to be closed off and our temporary entrance will be put in roughly 100 meters south of our current entry. Which mean that you will only be able to enter and exit the clinic from the North Bound side of Bussell Highway.
* Please see the pic below to make sense of this. *
If coming from the South Bound side of Bussell Highway we advise you to:
- Turn Right at the traffic lights turning into Washington Ave
- Left at the traffic lights onto Parade Rd and following that road until you reach the traffic lights
- Left onto Norton Promenade until you reach the next set of traffic lights
- Left at the next set of lights onto Bussell Highway heading North.
- Where you'll be able to turn Left into our new Entry/Exit.
* Please see the pic below to make sense of this. *
Please allow for delays and drive carefully - we appreciate your patience. 🐾

🛑 Road works 🛑

There are going to be some road works happening over the next couple of months as some traffic lights and slip lanes are put in, in front of the clinic.

For now the beginnings of the road works will not affect us other than some traffic cones - we will keep you updated as things change.

We appreciate your patience 🐾

The latest road incident and impact information is provided for you to plan a safe and efficient trip across Western Australian roads.

🐶Dr Lucy and the Nurses having some fun with Pumba's bandage 🐶

Poor little Pumba broke his leg a couple of weeks ago and has been recovering with a cast. Unfortunately, due to the kind of fracture and his age meant he wasn't a candidate for surgery, so Dr Lucy and his family opted for casting instead. His owners have been doing a superb job with his recovery and keeping him confined. ❤🐾

A Tasty Treat? Or maybe not so tasty.. 🐶😵‍💫
🛑** warning graphic images **🛑
** video in comments**

Lately our small animal veterinarians have seen an influx of dogs and cats eating things that they maybe thought were a tasty treat at the time, but a couple days later found themselves in a bit of strife and needing to have a visit with us that resulted in surgery! Some of the things we’ve removed that have caused an obstruction in the digestive tract have included; a peach pit, corn cobs, a hairball, some reticulation, a rope toy and even some tampons! 😳

Thankfully all these pets are recovering well and are hopefully rethinking their snack choices 🤦‍♀️🤣

Here are some signs to look out for if you think your pet may have ingested something that could be causing an obstruction:
Vomiting/ vomiting after eating
Reduced appetite/ not eating
Abdominal pain
Diarrhoea or straining to defecate
Lethargy

If you’re worried about your beloved pet then please give us a call on 9796 5800 🐶🐱

Are your horses up to date with their tetanus vaccination? 💉

We are currently facing a shortage of tetanus ANTITOXIN (TAT- green), the treatment for horses with tetanus.

The best way to prevent tetanus in horses is by keeping their vaccinations current and giving either a tetanus TOXOID (TT-yellow) booster or a 2in1 tetanus combined with strangles vaccine (2in1 red). Foals and previously unvaccinated horses require a priming course to ensure full protection.

Don't take the risk with your best mate, ensure their vaccinations are up to date today. If you have any queries about vaccinating your horses feel free to contact our friendly equine team.

🌾🐶 Grass Seed Season 🐶🌾

Recently we saw Bunji at our clinic for a standard castration. While he was in our clinic Dr Lucy was completing a thorough examination and found him covered in grass seeds! They were everywhere, in bedded into his skin and even in his mouth and down his throat! Thankfully Dr Lucy and the nurses were able to remove them all; Leaving Bunji feeling much more comfortable.

Can you guess how many were found? (Not all are pictured)

Please check your pets daily for grass seeds during the warmer months to avoid them being embedded in your pets skin causing pain and potentially infections! 🐴🐶🐱
