WHO ELSE IS PLANTING GARLIC THIS EASTER LONG WEEKEND?

we’ve tucked our early turbans into the ground this week and bagged some packs of our white velvet seed stock for anyone keen to have a grow at home!

RADSPEEDLINGS ARE BACK BABY!

its time to pull out those sad looking tommies and mildewie cucumbers and replace the trellises with climbing snow peas & perhaps some Asian greens underneath. flip that sad looking potted succulent by the front, with herbs that will flavour your cool season soups and slow cooked stews all winter long.

while the soil is still warm (& rain on the way next week 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽) now it the time to fill the space b/w the roses with wombok or cauli, perhaps a romanesco or two. I won’t lie, the beauty growing winter veggies brings to any garden will have you thinking twice about planting any more ornamentals!

after the floods of last spring and subsequent farm move, it’s been a long while since these sweet morsels of goodness have been in our hx shares, & never has the saying been truer.

NEW CALENDAR YEAR PERHAPS…

but we are well and truly into our new growing season. tommies are pump’in, melons and pumpkins frothing and summer weeds have got ahold as we tried to press pause on the garden for as long as possible over the festive season, enjoying the company of visiting fam and friends.

all w the aim of hx’ing tomatoes by Christmas… & by george, todays hx is a bumper!

tomatoes are just one of the many crops in which our soil grown growing practices make their conversational hydro cousins pale in significance when compared in flavour.

their season has just begun & we have many more hours of quality time together. fourth wing, done. iron flame done, and now i’m into the fifth of the ‘a court of thorns and roses’ series. romantasy seems to be the flavour of the moment 😂

2023 GARLIC HARVEST

we had so many helping hands and open hearts come and join in on what might just be becoming an annual event - our garlic harvest.

so much garlic got pulled and for anyone who knows me well, probs is blown away from the amount of chat I had - its taken me two days to recover.

from the bottom of my heart, thank you to all who showed up, gave their morn and opened their minds to the ideas and thoughts of others, + used their imaginations to see what our hopes and dreams are for RADgrowers.
