A snippet of little 5 month old Nemesis’ third session doing stops on command on stock. At this stage we’re mostly focusing on balancing stock but now starting to introduce the stop command. We’re also working on finishing when told which of course is the hard part for such a keen pup! She’s such a beautiful pup with a fantastic temperament and natural working ability. Shaping up to be a really nice worker.

With the grass flourishing in back paddock, the sheep are loving it but of course, they aren’t too keen to come off it. Not to worry, Chimera gathers them without too much trouble.

Sat myself down in the front yard and let Cerberus do his own thing working the goats. No prompts given other than a go to work command. He’s lovely to watch when you can see him thinking and being calm. It’ll be exciting and interesting to see what his pups will be like when I start breeding. 🤩 #akheronworkingdogs #akheronkelpies

Some good work with the big boy Cerberus. Towards the end, two sheep didn’t want to go in the race so, I ask Cerberus to apply force. He tends to get wound up easily so I’m careful when doing this. One of Chimera’s ANKC herding test runs. Had a basic job with Abaddon today that turned into a bit of hard work! She did a great job working with these very flighty sheep (including a ram and mum with lambs). The circumstances were not what were expected and too much human intervention made the job harder and longer than it needed to be. But, Abaddon managed to work through it to get the job done. #akheronworkingdogs #akheronkelpies

I adore Chimera’s natural ability! She applies appropriate force when challenged by a protective ewe with her lamb but then backs off as soon as the ewe complies. ⠀ #akheronworkingdogs #akheronkelpies
