I operate 3 aquatreadmills as well as a heated swimming pool. At the centre I work with dogs of all breeds and sizes for a wide variety of reasons.
Hydrotherapy has huge benefits for dogs including but not limited to :
*Aiding dogs in their recovery from surgery or injury,
*allows brachycephalic breeds exercise safely
*allows dogs with weak spines/joints to exercise without stressing joints
*allowing dogs that have elbow/hip dyslpasia to exercise and build muscle strength,
*assisting dogs that need to increase their exercise to help with weightloss,
*allowing dogs that participate in sports and need to maintain fitness and build stamina, *allowing dogs that are older and starting to slow down with arthritic changes to do gentle exercise and assist with pain relief.
Hydrotherapy involves walking in heated water - the height of the water takes most of the dogs weight which allows the dog to do a gentle exercise session with limited/no weightbearing without stressing their joints.
A half hour session is $45 with discounts available for multiple dogs.
