Welcome, Benzo! 🐾

Today, we had the pleasure of teaming up with Certified Assistance Dogs Australia for a Home Maintenance 101 session with their newest trainee pup, 15-week-old Cobberdog, Benzo! 🐶✨

Benzo has a high-maintenance coat, so it’s vital we start a grooming routine that will support his unique needs and keep him healthy and happy. Establishing this foundation early will help him thrive in his future role as an assistance dog! ✂️💕

In Home Maintenance 101, we cover everything Benzo’s carers need to know: the WHEN, WHAT, WHY, WHERE, HOW, and WHO of grooming! From basics to desensitisation and home-care techniques, they’re all set to keep him looking his best between professional grooms. 🪮✏️

Welcome Lena! ✨

We have had the privilege of working with Lena's lovely family on many occasions over the last few years from grooming to training with their pups.

In true working dog style, Lena is a high-spirited Border Collie puppy with no shortage of energy or curiosity to explore. Even after tackling some early surgical intervention for joint health, Lena remains as connected and engaged during her training sessions as ever!

Our main areas of focus for Lena are creating a positive foundation of habits and routine. Not only will this help her become a well-balanced canine citizen, but it also fosters and strengthens the human-canine bond with her family 💜

Digging and chewing non-food related items can not only be really frustrating and costly but it can also be a vet visit waiting to happen...

Welcome Team Daisy & Lucy! 🐾

Whilst these adorable 9 month old Cavoodle sisters share everything from parents to identical upbringings, it is fascinating to see how chalk and cheese they are when it comes to personalities and needs.

When training in a multi-dog household - it's important that we establish what each dog needs to thrive as an individual and developing a training program that supports them and their owners to strengthen their bond and communication to create a harmonious lifestyle individually and as a team.

In today's session we began with getting to know the girls 1 on 1, introducing mental enrichment strategies to address some developing challenging behaviours, alleviate separation anxieties and started on some foundations for good door etiquette.

By the end of the session, Daisy demonstrated a preference for crunchy foods in a stationary enrichment item like snuffle matts or food puzzles whereas Lucy enjoys being able to lick and work on feeder balls that offer the added challenge of movement. Both girls are excelling with the door etiquette, quickly engaging with mum and switching from vocalising / jumping at the door and bursting through to choosing a quiet sit and wait on entry and exit. Well done mum & puppies! 👏

Welcome Team Daisy! 🐾

A case of the Doggy-door doubts 🫣

After the early days of following mum & dad through the sliding door for toilet / play time, a new doggy-door addition had Daisy the 6-month-old Retriever a little confused & hesitant to step through alone.

After a session of body awareness and confidence building games, we are happy to report Daisy is welcoming her new-found independence with ease! 🥳

Welcome Team Walter 🐾

There is something about watching the fear and stress melt away from an owner's entire being that just affirms why we do what we do 🧡

Walt is a 2-year-old Labradoodle that struggles with the unpredictability of strangers and children in his space and has been known to nip, growl and bark in the past leaving his owners (rightly) worried for the safety of visitors in their home.

With the help of our very own TGSA Jnr Trainer in training, Ayrton whom Walt had met several times in the past, came along to assist us with showing Walt some calming techniques and desensitisation to a multitude of scenarios under safe guidance and monitoring, even becoming best buddies by the end of the session!

We are so proud of the team effort of everyone today and cannot wait to update you on more progress from Walt soon ✨

At a mere 15 Weeks Old. Monty the wee Maltese-Silky has a big personality already with a dash of typical challenging puppy behaviours too 🫣

It was great to see some improvements with just a slight tweak of his daily routine and swapping his favourite snack of clothes & toes for toys, treats & training. ☑️

We are also tackling Monty's battle with the bath 🛁 & brush 🪮 in the grooming desensitisation program ✂️

We look forward to seeing Monty's growth 🧡

Welcome Team Tate 🐾

Can you relate to your dog not having an off switch? You're not alone!

When we first visited Tate, his pawrents were at their wits end with some really common struggles:

- Excessive barking
- Separation anxiety
- Ineffective high-drive outlets and;
- Parental resource guarding

Whilst there is still a lot of work to be done, we have seen some huge progress being made already and cannot wait to see and share more of Tate's journey soon!
