🐾 A Big Day for Ace – One Senior Pup 🐾 Skilled veterinary Dentistry 🦷

Today, we had the privilege of caring for a very special 15-year-old dog Ace, with a high-grade heart murmur. Under the expert hands of Dr. Phil, our experienced animal dentist, and nurse Dakota, our skilled veterinary anaesthetist, we performed a dental under general anaesthesia.
Our senior pup had six teeth surgically extracted and the rest carefully scaled and polished to keep their smile bright! πŸ¦·πŸ’«
Throughout the procedure, we ensured top-notch monitoring by a real human – our veterinary anaesthetic nurse with monitoring of ECG, blood pressure, SpO2, pulse, respiratory rate, ETCO2, and core body temperature to ensure their safety and comfort.
It’s so rewarding to see our geriatric patients receive the care they deserve. With their dental health now in great shape, we're looking forward to many more years of tail wags and happy moments! 🐢❀️

Dental Wisdom. Every Pet deserves a pain-free infection free mouth. In one dental procedure our veterinary dentists will generally be able to clean up and improve the oral cavity.
Today Ruby, a 9 year old cavoodle was lucky enough to have his owners bring him for a dental procedure under general anaesthetic after probing each tooth the vet- dentist Dr Phil removed about 10 teeth. The tooth sockets were stitched closed and Ruby was given an antibiotic injection and some pain relief
Ruby goes home the same day and will be a new pet in about three or four days time; after removal of so much pain and infection from the oral cavity.
A a picture of Rudy about half an hour after the dental procedure.
See the Youtube/ for real live dog dentals, and what the veterinary dentists in Burwood Vet do.

Ruby is a really cute pet? Do you agree? We, at Burwood Vet Dental loved having this gentle trusting pet, and being able to improve her quality of life!

Sooooo skinny!!! The clinic is currently helping a rescue cat. Cindy was brought to the clinic as a stray. We were able to locate her owner thanks to her microchip. Cindy is 15 years old and has been out lost on the streets for the last 4 years, but her owner doesn't want her anymore so one of our staff has adopted her. Cindy is little more than a skeleton and has quite a list of things wrong with her. She has already had surgery for several mouth lesions. She is still waiting for more test results. Due to the significant matting of her long fur, we had to shave her. She had a bath today (she's not a fan of baths). She has traded in her thundershirt and is currently staying warm in her alien onesie. She has quite a wardrobe and is charming everyone she meets.

Rosie is about to have her CT scan at Burwood Vet... She's had some pain and been reluctant to move this week. Her Xray reaults have shown some spinal issues, so Rosie needs a CT scan in order to determine the extent of her condition and help the vets shape the best plan of action for her going forward. As you can see, Rosie is quite relaxed and seems to be enjoying the fuss. Here's hoping she has a speedy recovery.

Sometimes you just have to stand back and admire the patience of our patients. Lila was incredibly sweet while having a blood test today! A routine blood test is a good way to check for any illness or condition that your pet might be hiding!

It's dog anxiety awareness week!

It's Dog Anxiety Awareness Week! Let's wag away those worries with three tail-wagging tips:

1️⃣ Spot the Signs πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ
Keep your eyes peeled for unusual behaviours or eating habits - they could be barking up the anxiety tree! Catching these signs early can help make your pup's world a less ruff place.

2️⃣ Routine to the Rescue πŸ“…
A predictable day keeps the jitters away! Setting a daily schedule helps your dog know what's coming, making every day a walk in the park.

3️⃣ Therapy Tails πŸ’¬
If your pup's fears aren't just a phase, it might be time to call in the paw-fessionals. A dog therapist can work wonders, turning scaredy-dogs into confident canines.

Let's make this week a stepping stone to happier, more relaxed pups. 🐢
