SAVE THIS NUMBER!
As our wetlands dry and our native Black Swans natural food sources disappear, hundreds of young Cygnets (infant Swans) leave in search of food - often after their parents have moved on. As most Cygnets still cannot fly (they take 4-5 months to learn and usually stay with their parents until around 9 months), they will sadly often end up in places with no food at all such as;
โ Swimming in the Port Geographe Marina canals
โ Swimming out in the open ocean
โ Wandering along roads
โ Or found injured, sick, and exhausted
