‼️Pet microchip registration changes ‼️

Just a quick message to all our clients. A microchip registry called HomeSafe ID is now shutting down, meaning vets, rangers and pet owners may no longer have access to registered pet details.

If you are currently the listed owner of a pet on Homesafe ID’s database, you can register your pet with the Australian Animal Registry (AAR) by going to aar.com.au and completing the New Registration Form, then emailing it back to them at [email protected]. This will ensure your pets microchip continues to do its job and reunite lost pets.

🔹 Check if your pet is registered with Homesafe ID
🔹 Re-register now to ensure your pet’s details are accessible

Learn more & re-register here: www.aar.org.au

If you need help, check your pet’s microchip details at www.petaddress.com.au
If you are unsure of your pet’s microchip number call GEOvet on 9754-4422.

If you have been wondering why we have been quiet on social media since Christmas, the last few weeks over the holiday period, we have been a very busy clinic🩺🏥

We have seen multiple cases of snake bites, hit by cars, stitch ups, emergency abdominal surgeries, toxicity cases, cesareans and grass seeds cases just to name a few. Thank you to all our wonderful clients who moved their regular appointments so we could treat patients in need.🐾🏥

The southwest has no after hours emergency clinic like Perth does, our vets and nurses take in a considerable amount of after hours work to keep up with the demand of the growing southwest. Our staff have worked endlessly to provide care to multiple emergencies within hours and after hours. They have dedicated their time to helping critical patients in need and giving up their own family time over weekends, Christmas and New Years to get through the abundance of sick patients.

The vet industry can be hard physically, emotionally and mentally, particularly the long hours it entails. We would like to say a massive thank you to all our wonderful vets, nurses and receptionists for their dedication, hard work and compassion. Without them there would be no after hours service and no clinic! Thank you to all our clients for your patience and understanding over the last few weeks! 💜💛

🐍Snake Season🐍

It’s that time of the year again when the weather is getting warmer and the snakes are out!
Gidget here had a play date with a snake and was rushed into the clinic when her owners noticed she was vomiting and had collapsed. Gidget arrived unconscious and minutes away from death. Our team of vets and nurses quickly got to work to save Gidget’s life, after intensive care and life support she pulled through. Gidget has now recovered and is back at home with her owners. 💜💛

Do you know the signs of a snake bite?🐍

🐍 Vomiting
🐍 Excessive drooling
🐍 Shaking, muscle tremors
🐍 Collapse or weakness
🐍 Inability to control bladder or bowels
🐍 Fixed dilated pupils
🐍 Unexplained bleeding

If you suspect your dog has been bitten by a snake or has been seen with a snake please contact us on 9754 4422☎️

🌸On Wednesdays we wear wild scrubs for charity!🌸
For the next few months we will be raising money for Fawna, who work tirelessly to take care of our Western Australian wildlife. They are a non profit organisation run by volunteer carers. They spend endless hours caring for all the critters great and small, including our endangered western ringtail possums!

If you would like to donate to the cause our donation tin can be found at our reception desk. 📞
F.A.W.N.A Inc.
Keep your eyes peeled for our Facebook story every Wednesday of our staff members in wild scrubs!🩺💜💛
