Friday Teddy got to experience the beach for the first time!

He loved being at the beach with us but was not keen to go in the water or leave our side!

I had a long 10m lead ready for him to explore and have a run but I spent most the time trying to gather it all in the wind with Teddy beside me!

Any other greyhounds not keen on the beach? 🏖️

One Greyhound is not enough!

But, Two is perfect!

We have a special brother and sister pair available soon! If you have room in your heart and home for 2 greyhounds please get in contact asap!

Jimmy and Whistle are very gentle and enjoy a short chilled walk. With their beautiful gentle nature they love kids attention and just want to be near their humans!

When we don’t have a current foster our cats like to “step in” and pretend they are a greyhound!

We have had Teddy since May 2023 and it’s taken this long for him to get this close to Izzy!

Nothing happens over night and with patience and training anything can happen.
I can’t wait to see these 2 cuddled up one winter ❄️

Seen this on another page and wanted to share -

AT CHRISTMAS 🎄 YOUR DOG DOESN’T HAVE TO:

🧑‍🎄 Visit Santa at the shopping centre

🎄 Be around your visitors

🎅🏽 Go to other peoples houses

🎄 Go to see the Christmas lights

🍺 Go to the busy pub on Christmas Eve

If they are anxious or get worried about people, dogs or busy places or if they just don’t like doing these things. It’s not a fault if they don’t like doing these things, many dogs don’t enjoy ‘human activities’ like this (but some do).

✅ Instead they may prefer to:

🚪 Be in their safe space, a quiet room they like being in with a dog gate on the doorway when you have a house full of people who may scare them

🐕 Have an extra trip to a dog park on Christmas morning and some extra enrichment at home while you go and visit family for a few hours if they’d find it stressful to come with you

🐶 A meet up with a dog or human friend at a place they like on Christmas Eve

🦴 A trip to a the pet shop to get some sweet treats.

🍖 Some dog safe Christmas biscuits you’ve made rather than dressing up in a dog Santa outfit

Loads of these Christmas ‘traditions’ that we enjoy are not enjoyed by our dogs, especially if they are anxious or more sensitive. Even the most robust dog may tolerate these activities rather than love them.

Please be mindful of your dogs wants and needs and don’t put them into situations they find stressful just because we want them to be part of Christmas. It’s your Christmas, not your dogs, they really won’t mind not being included in everything you do ❤️

This beautiful greyhound is Miss Whistle. She’s so gentle and would be perfect for a family that enjoys some chilled walks and gentle play time.

Whistle hasn’t been tested with children or cats yet but with her gentle nature she would love to meet some kids! Whistle doesn’t like other female dogs but is completely fine with male dogs.

Meet 4 year old Mr Jethro our Roman Nose greyhound!

Jethro has energy to burn and is a very happy dog 😆 We think he would love an active family with older kids. He is still learning what relaxing is so is constantly on the move around the house!

He wants to play and roll around and loves to chase a soccer ball ⚽️ although pre-warning the soccer ball may not survive. He loves the grass and needs a harness when walked as he has a tiny head and larger neck and knows how to slip his collar!

He currently goes in his crate for forced rest during the day otherwise he is go go go! Although he is currently in foster care with cats he is very keen on them and will bark and pull towards them very eagerly so we recommend no cats, rabbits or chicken friends for Jethro!

Kids - Currently Living with 2 kids ages 4 and 8 years old in a very busy loud household. He is very much in their face and loves to lick so would suit older kids.

Cats - Currently in foster with 3 cats. He is very keen on them and wants to get close and barks and whinges at them. So we have not been able to get closer as he is just too eager still.

Dogs - Currently in care with another greyhound likes to chill near by with no dramas.

Crate trained - For sleeping at night and for times when humans are out. Currently sleeps 7pm till 7am with no dramas.

Diet - Morning soaked kibble, Evening soaked kibble with beef and veg dog roll.

When it’s catch up on paperwork and emails in the Office day but you can’t be far away from your greyhounds!

I need more floor space, I have only run over Teddys paw once with my chair so he has learnt to move further back!

Do you have Greyhound “employees” helping you in the office?

Meet Mr Boomer!

This black beauty didn’t even make it into my foster care! He went straight to an amazing family to start his 2 week trial!

But if you ask me he isn’t going anywhere he is snuggled up on the couch with his new mum and dad watching tv like a lap dog! Boomer’s new mum was looking for a dog to love and walk with, who wouldn’t pull or require long walks as she had just had her second hip replacement and has had 2 knee replacements! I matched her to Boomer and he has already proved to be the perfect walking companion for her!

I love how calm and chilled our greyhounds are when they come into the family home!
Greyhounds make the best family member!

Teddy LOVES ❤️ his Kustom Kennels
YES he even goes in to sleep 💤 during the day ☀️

We made sure to include a removable divider so in between fosters we can give him a huge space to spread out in!
