💚🐾 So many hounds. So many stories. 🐾💚

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for many beautiful greyhounds, each with their own personality, history and needs. Every stay brings a new experience and a deeper appreciation for just how sensitive and special these dogs are.

At Greener Hound, I offer pet sitting in a calm, low stress home where only a small number of greyhounds are cared for at any one time. This allows me to give each hound individual attention, close supervision and the kind of care I would give my own dogs.

This is a quiet, home based environment where hounds are treated as part of the family. There is time for rest, gentle walks, routine, and simply watching the world go by.

I also cater for greyhounds with special needs, including
💚 Hounds who need to be on their own
💚 Dogs who are not comfortable around other dogs
💚 Greyhounds who may need a little extra support or gentle training
💚 Sensitive souls who just need a peaceful place to relax while you are away

This time of year reminds me just how deeply these sensitive, soulful dogs touch our lives. They give us their whole hearts and leave paw prints that stay with us forever 💚

Whether your hound is stretched out in their favourite cool spot, watching the world go by, or enjoying a quiet day at home with you, I hope today feels calm, safe and full of love

We have two beautiful girls with us this week💚💚 I love to make sure that everyone is happy and getting on just like friends would😊 it’s important that greyhounds are introduced to each other and can be with each other. These two get on like a house on fire.🔥

⛈️💚 Stormy days ahead 💚⛈️

If your greyhound is storm phobic, you’re definitely not alone. Many hounds are sensitive to changes in air pressure, thunder, lightning, and even the static in the air.

Here are a few gentle ways to help them feel safe and supported when storms roll in:

🌿 Use calming essential oils
Try diffusing Peace & Calming to create a serene environment, or apply Stress Away to the acupressure point on the base of their foot for grounding and emotional balance.

🛏️ Create a safe, quiet space
Set up a cozy corner with familiar blankets, their bed, or a crate covered with a light blanket to muffle sound and flashes.

🎶 Play soft music or white noise
The gentle background sound can help mask thunder and bring comfort.

🐾 Stay calm yourself
Our dogs feel our emotions. If you stay relaxed, they’ll take their cues from you.

💚 Gentle touch helps
Slow, steady pats or resting your hand on them can provide reassurance and grounding.

Remember, they just need to know they’re safe and loved. 💚
