Did someone say guinea pigs?
We are looking for new owners for a bunch of cute little guinea pigs that have come into ACE.
The team at Rags to Riches are helping out with rehoming these guys so please shoot them a message via Facebook, or email Council at [email protected].
Please note, if you are emailing Council we may not get back to you until tomorrow.
Even good dogs have bad days.
Most dog attacks involving children happen in their own home or the home of a friend or family member.
Cairns Regional Council, with the help of CQUniversity Australia Digital Media students, has developed a suite of online games to help children (and their carers) understand the signs when a dog prefers to be left alone and the right way to interact with dogs, to keep both kids and pets happy and safe.

๐ Cats sure can multiply quickly!
These kittens are just a few of the 24 felines that were surrendered last week from a single Cairns home.
And it's not an unusual occurrence. We are regularly called to assist cat owners who have more pets than they can handle.
Female cats that aren't desexed can have 2 or more litters of up to 8 kittens every year. When those kittens go on to have their own litters, numbers can quickly get out of control.
If you need help, the RSPCA Cairns is offering pet desexing (and other pet welfare) assistance to eligible concession card holders as part of Community Days being held next week.
