Yesterday, on behalf of the NBVC team, Dr Michelle and Aiden donated $𝟓𝟎𝟎 to 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞.

This charity provides FREE animal care services for SENIORS in the comfort of their own homes. 🏡 Their team of volunteers will assist with everything from feeding and walking to administering medication.

We LOVE being able to support the great work of charities like this and know this donation will be put to good use. 💟

Urinary crystals can be a painful issue for our feline friends, acting like sharp shards of glass that irritate the lining of the bladder 💎.

Under the microscope, these crystals are often identified as either struvite or calcium oxalate, both of which can lead to serious health concerns if left untreated.

These crystals are commonly linked to Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (or FLUTD as it's commonly referred to), which can cause difficulty urinating, blood in the urine or frequent trips to the litter box. 🙀

It's vital to organise a veterinary appointment if you notice any of these symptoms. A check-up can uncover underlying causes like diet, hydration, urinary tract infections...and even stress, which can significantly impact your cat’s urinary health!.

Early intervention is key to ensuring your cat’s comfort and wellbeing. If you have concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out! 🏥

Inca, a gorgeous 8 year old Pug has been coming to the clinic regularly to get her a**l glands expressed. On her recent visit, Nurse Tatihanna was having trouble expressing them and sought advice from Dr Michelle.

Dr Michelle found that one of her glands was firm and swollen and Inca was sent home with a course of antibiotics, in case it was infection. Upon rechecking 2 weeks later, there was no improvement, so Inca was booked in to have her a**l glands removed as there was a concern for neoplasia.

After her surgery and a stay overnight in our hospital, Inca was discharged to chill out at home. Inca’s recovery has gone wonderfully and her owner reports she is so much more comfortable.

We are delighted to share that Inca’s results came back with great news (albeit a bit strange)!! Inca was diagnosed with a rare dermoid cyst involving the a**l gland. This dermoid cyst was growing hair and causing a firm growing mass.

Congrats Inca on your great news and for being a star patient during your recovery ❤️‍🩹

And an even bigger thank you to Inca’s parents for showing such incredible gratitude to our team with a lovely hamper of baked goodies and handmade crafts. We are so lucky!

Leo is partway through his chemotherapy treatment for gastrointestinal lymphoma and this visit entailed a review of his weight, some important bloodwork and an abdominal ultrasound with Dr Michelle. Leo was such a brave boy and handled the day like a champ, so calm and relaxed throughout his stay. 🙌

Making hospital visits a pleasant experience is SO important to us, as it builds incredible trust between our furry patients and our team.

As part of our fear-free promise, all of our feline patients are provided special calming pheromones to make them feel more at ease. We provide soft comfortable bedding and cosy hideaways to relax in our DEDICATED cat ward.

We live and breathe our fear-free promise and treat every patient like they are our own. 💛😻
