YAPS Cat Oasis Resort - Cat Boarding

We are on the search for our next cat-loving staff member!
This role will start in the cleaning / feeding department of our cat boarding facility and will hopefully progress into you learning how to help run the cat boarding office.

This is a casual position and hours will vary in peak / non peak times.
If you are looking for a full time role with guaranteed hours each week, this is not the role for you.

The cleaning / feeding shifts we are looking to fill asap are Monday and Thursday mornings from 7am.

Skills we are looking for:
A friendly, positive, hard-working team player.
The ability to clean up after cats without a fuss - spews, wees, poos (and lots of it!!).
Basic knowledge of cats and cat behaviours.
Some previous office and computer experience (filing, answering phones, answering emails, using Microsoft office applications etc).
Own reliable transport is essential for this role (this is needed for emergency vet trips).

We will not be accepting students studying animal placement courses for this particular role.

It’s not just dogs that get scared in storms…
Cats can also get scared and run away from home in a panick, never to be seen again…!😱

Make sure your little feline friend has a safe spot inside your home if you are out during storm season. ☔️⛈️🌀😸

Yesterday we had to say goodbye to our resident Yaps cat Tippie. 😢
Many of you would have met / seen Tippie over the years, either in the cat boarding office or outside.
Some of you may have even had to step over her while she was having a nap on our front door mat. 😂
Tippie was nearly 17 years old and unfortunately old age caught up with her. 💔
You were a cranky old woman sometimes, but we will all miss seeing your face around here Tippie. x

🔺Assisted rehoming 🔺
Tom and Jerry are looking for a new furrever home! 😺😺
These boys are regular boarders with us here, they are brothers and the staff have very much fallen in love with them both. (we all unfortunately own too many cats already). 😢

Tom is the more outgoing, braver boy and will happily sit on your lap.
Jerry takes his time with new surroundings / people, and is a lot more timid.
These boys are a bonded pair and would need to stay together. They are up to date with their worming and vaccinations.

Due to the housing crises in Cairns, our boarding staff are urgently trying to assist their owner in rehoming.

If anyone is willing to save these two young, handsome boys, please get in touch with us and we can pass on their owner’s details asap.
