We appreciate 24 hours notice to dispense your pets medications. Medications can only be dispensed by Veterinarians, after our reception team has acknowledged your script and confirmed it is valid they then inform our Veterinarians. Outside of consulting, hospital and surgery time our Veterinarians will dedicate time for pharmacy dispensing. If you could give us as much notice as possible we will ensure your pet gets medications on time!

💊Compound medications require 7 days notice as all compounding is done externally.

Marlin Coast Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced and outgoing Receptionist to work a variety of shifts on our busy reception desk (which will include day, evening and some weekend shifts). Join our awesome team!

The role
This role is primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service, including:

• Handling client enquiries professionally in person, by email and over the phone
• Managing the day-to-day appointment schedule
• Processing payments & balancing end of day takings
• Administration support to our team of specialists, Veterinarians and Nurses
• Product sales and client education
• A permanent full-time role with variety; open to part-time requests for the right candidate
• Monday to Friday, 10 hour shifts within the hours of 7.00 am – 7.30 pm (4 shifts per week)
• Some Saturday work required (estimated 1 in 4)
• Industry specific training will also be provided

The ideal candidate will be someone who is:
• Committed to providing the highest standard of care to our patients, customers and staff
• Mature with the ability to remain professional while dealing with a diverse clientele and a range of animals entering the clinic
• Able and willing to work with a sense of urgency at times & effectively multi-task
• Has an enthusiastic and positive approach to their work and the team
• Intermediate computer skills with the ability to pick up a new client booking system.
• Possibly have worked as a Veterinary Nurse or Human Nurse in the past and have demonstrated triage skills (although please note that this role does not contain any nursing responsibilities and is not likely to lead to a Veterinary Nursing position).

The nursing team at MCVH is a high-performance team that plays a vital role in support of our dedicated vet team providing exceptional care for our patients. Day to day responsibilities include surgical and anaesthetic nursing, nurse consults, admit and discharge of surgical and procedure patients, ensuring daily cleaning protocols of consistent high level and general office admin tasks.

Our ideal candidate will have the following:
• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent;
• 4+yrs Vet Nurse experience highly regarded;
• Great problem solving and organisation skills;
• Excellent customer service skills;
• The ability to stay calm and work well under pressure;
• Drive to continue to learn and grow;
• Experience with Rx works (preferred but not essential);

What we offer:
• A permanent full time role with interesting variety of cases (part-time hours will be considered)

🩵🐾Meet Sharky🐾🩵
When all you need for Christmas is socks that match your best mates bandana (and your ball). 🎅
Sharky was the runt of his litter and came to us initially as a tiny 6 week old pup- he is growing fast and has fitted into his new family so well. Cattle dogs make great family pets they love when they have a job to do, are highly energetic and will find any opportunity for exercise.
We love watching your pets grow!

How handsome is Biscuit❤️ Biscuit is a gorgeous boy who curiosity sometimes gets the better of him!
He often will find something on his beach adventures that upsets his sensitive stomach and we are always here ready to help him and his Mum!
