Tomorrow Wed 14th our collection services will be unavailable as our vehicle undergoes necessary maintenance. We will be able to receive pets into our care at our office and crematorium here at Possum Ridge and will resume our collection services on Thursday 15th, otherwise your Veterinary Clinic can also be of assistance if required. Our office and crematorium will be closed this Friday 19th July.
During this time, we will have a staff member on call for public holiday afterhours services, should you require assistance following the passing of a pet at home. *Easter Weekend*

Our crematorium and office will be closed on and from Tomorrow Friday March 29th and will re-open again on Tuesday 2nd April for the Easter holiday weekend.

During this time we will have afterhours services available from 5:00am to 10:00pm. To request assistance following the passing of a pet, please call on 4036 0999 and leave a message which will divert to the staff on call.

Please be advised that our afterhours assistance may be frequently requested this weekend and there may be possible delays to the timeframe in which we can contact you back or be with you.
Please know that we will endeavor to help you as soon as we can.

We are continually receiving a very high number of pets into our care here at Possum Ridge and the period of time we require pets to be with us for cremation services unfortunately must also extend. At this stage, for the duration of 2024, this will be a period of up to 3 weeks.

We ask families to please allow up to 3 weeks for cremation services for pets. This will allow us the time required to co-ordinate receiving them into the care of Possum Ridge, the scheduling of and performing of individual cremation, the finalising of ashes as per wishes, and arrangements for return home.

Due to the increase in requests for home collection services, short notice (same or prior day) home collection requests may be unavailable if they conflict with pre-booked commitments. In this event, families will be able to bring their pets on their final journey here to us at Possum Ridge, if required.

Please also be aware that the increase of pets with us will also periodically impact urn availability.

We thank you for your understanding and patience as we care for your furry, feathered and scaly family members. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions at this time.

*Update*

We are open today as per normal hours. However due to pre-booked appointments and the recent conditions we are now fully booked for home collections today Monday 18/12.

We also are receiving a high number of bookings for the remainder of the week before Christmas, and may be unavailable to assist with same day/ short notice home collection requests at this time.

Should you be in need of our services today, please call our office on 4036 0999. We are available at the office if you are able to transport your pet to us.

*Cyclone Jasper*

Our crematorium will be closed tomorrow Wednesday 13th as a precaution. At this stage we will re-open and continue services on Thursday the 14th. We will have staff member on call as per usual, however urgent/ home collection services will be unavailable for the duration of any severe conditions, until it is accessible and safe to do so. Please be aware there may be phone/ connectivity issues during this time. When we have resumed services, we may be inundated with calls and correspondence. We will endeavor to assist you as soon as we can if you require help. If you are having trouble reaching us, please contact your veterinary clinic for assistance.

Due to the time of year, we are currently receiving a high number of calls and requests for home collections of pets. The requests for our home collection services are being booked by families days (to weeks) in advance. Should you have a vet appointment approaching and require Possum Ridge collection for cremation, we would advise being in contact with us as soon as the vet appointment has been made, to ensure we can be with you at your requested day and time. Short notice and immediate collection assistance may not be available due to our commitment to these pre-arranged bookings, until after the Christmas and New Years period. For urgent assistance, if you are unable reach us immediately, please contact your veterinary clinic and they will also be able to help.

Families are able to bring their pets to us here at Possum Ridge office and crematorium if preferred/required. We would ask for contact prior to arriving, as we have pre arranged appointments throughout the day.

Also, as the only pet crematorium in Cairns currently with weekend collection services available, at times our phone line can become busy and availability may be limited or delayed. By phone is the most direct way to contact us and we would ask you please leave a message and our staff will contact you as soon as they can to help.

Sadly we are currently receiving a very high number of pets into our care for cremation services. Due to this, and as an individual cremation crematorium (performs individual cremation services only), there will be extended wait times for pet's ashes to be able to return home for the foreseeable future . We are currently asking to allow up to 2 weeks (10 business days) for pets to be in our care.

Please be aware that we are currently receiving increased correspondence and phone calls at this time, as a result, and will endeavor to return contact to those we are unable to assist straight away, as soon as possible. Our home visit availability is also limited at this time, as families are requesting our services in advance. Short notice bookings and immediate assistance may not be available at this time.

Please contact your veterinarian clinic if you require urgent assistance, following the passing of a pet, in the event you are unable to reach us immediately.

We understand that wait times can be distressing for the families of the pets we care for, however please know that we will do everything we can to have your pets back home with you again as soon as possible. We thank you for your understanding at this time.

*Closure - Easter Break*

Our Crematorium and Office will be closed from and including this Friday 7th to Monday 10th April, reopening on Tuesday 11th April.

In the event of the passing of a pet, there will remain a staff member on call over this period to assist. To request assistance call 4036 099 to leave a message and our staff will return contact to help as soon as possible. Please note if you do not receive a return call immediately, we may be assisting another family and please be assured we will be in touch. Urgent emails will be checked and responded to periodically during his time.

*We will also be having scheduled maintenance undertaken on our service vehicle on Wednesday the 19th April and will be unable to conduct collection services on this date. Our office and crematorium will remain open should families be required to bring their pet here, into our care, on this date.

Wednesday the 25th Jan our collection services will be unavailable due to necessary maintenance being undertaken on our service vehicle. Our Office and crematorium will remain open.

Following this on Thursday 26th Jan our office and crematorium will be closed as per the public holiday. There will remain a staff member on call should assistance be required on this day. We will resume services at our usual hours on Friday 27th.
(Please note that due to the public holiday, Friday 27th our services have already become almost fully booked. Should you require assistance on this day we will endeavor to help you as best we can.)

Christmas and New Years Closures/Hours;

Our Office and Crematorium in Mount Sheridan will be closed over the Christmas period from 12:00 pm Friday 23rd December to and including Tuesday 27th December.

We will also be closed over the New Years Period from Saturday 31st December to and including Monday 2nd January.

A staff member will remain on call over these periods for Public Holiday After Hours Services and will be available from 5:00am - 10:00pm, should you require assistance following the passing of a pet. To request assistance please call 4036 0999 and leave a message. We will contact you back as soon as possible to help.

*Public Holiday Closure*

*Upcoming Crematorium Maintenance* & *Public Holiday Closure*

- Between Friday 16th - Friday 23rd September our cremator will be undergoing necessary maintenance. In order for this maintenance to be performed, we will be unable to conduct cremations for most of the duration of this period.

Please know we will continue to remain open during our usual hours and will be available to receive pets into our care, following the sad event of a passing. We will endeavor to ensure pets are able to return home as soon as possible, once we are able to commence cremation services again.

-Our service vehicle will also be undergoing maintenance on Tuesday 20th September and will be unavailable for collection services on this date. Families may visit our crematorium if required, or their veterinary clinic may assist until we resume collection services.

- Additionally, our office and crematorium will be closed on the recently announced Public Holiday 'National Day of Mourning for her Majesty the Queen' Thursday 22nd September. (Please know public holiday assistance will be available as per usual by contacting 4036 0999).

Closure - Show holiday

Our crematorium in Mount Sheridan will be closed this Friday 15th July, the Cairns Show Holiday, and re-open Monday 18th July.
