Ukumarí Biopark 🇨🇴

We’ve just wrapped up something truly magical. Our last stop on the Ankuara Expedition was Ukumarí Biopark in Colombia – and mates, it cracked our hearts wide open. 💔❤️‍🔥

Ukumari is a second chance for animals who’ve survived one of the world’s cruelest trades – wildlife trafficking. These aren’t just animals… they’re survivors. Fighters. Their stories? Unbelievable. Rescued from circus, cages, black markets, and unimaginable cruelty – and now healing, thanks to legends who’ve made it their life’s mission to give them back their freedom, their dignity, their wild. 🐅🦜🐒

It’s the kind of place that reminds you why we fight for animals.
And here’s the truth bomb 💣:

🚨 Wildlife trafficking is the third most lucrative illegal trade in the world.
But guess what? You, the one reading this – you’re one of the heroes. By choosing compassion, by speaking up– you’re helping end this trade.

Let’s stand up for them. Always. 🙌

🛑 Three things we can all do to fight animal trafficking:
1️⃣ Never buy wild or exotic animals as pets – no matter how “cute” they seem.
2️⃣ Speak out – report wildlife crimes and raise awareness.
3️⃣ Support rescue centres and conservation projects doing the hard, beautiful work.

🐾✨ THE FINAL DESTINATION – ANKUARA EXPEDITION 2025 ✨🐾

We’ve just come back from the heart of the wild — and it’s changed us forever.

Two stops. A thousand stories. And one big truth: YOU are the hero animals need.

We were lucky enough to visit Ukumarí Biopark and Wacatá National Reserve & Biopark in Colombia — two places where hope gets a second chance. These sanctuaries are home to animals rescued from illegal trafficking. Yep, we met survivors of a world too cruel — and now they’re safe, healing, and inspiring change.

From the mighty Andean Condor to the elusive Oso de Anteojos (Spectacled Bear) — every animal had a story that hit us in the guts. And behind the scenes? Pure legends. Brave souls working day and night to rescue, rehabilitate and protect.

💔 Animal trafficking is real.
🛑 But we can stop it.

💥 Say NO to wildlife products.
💥 Say NO to animals in entertainment.
💥 Say NO to wild animals as pets.

Say YES to being a voice for the voiceless.

In Camelot, King Arthur brought his knights around a round table—no head, no hierarchy—just unity. Everyone equal, everyone ready for battle, together.

At SuncoastVet, we started doing the same thing 4 years ago. We call it the DOR (Daily Operational Review).

Every morning 8am, our teams stands in a circle. No desks. No screens. Just real humans, big hearts, and one shared purpose: to fight for the animals and people who need us.

It’s short. It’s powerful. It’s where we listen, align, inspire each other—and then go out there and give it everything we’ve got. 💥

It’s not just a meeting. It’s our version of Camelot magic.
Because when you stand shoulder to shoulder, you don’t just work—you believe.

Crikey, what a ride it’s been! We're up in the clouds, heading to the final stop of this magical journey—and what a journey it’s been. From day one, the Ankuara Expedition has been about more than flights and flags. It’s been about hearts. About healing. About humans becoming better—thanks to the animals who walk beside us.

🐶🐱🐴 Our furry, feathery and scaly mates don’t just rely on us—they teach us. They show us loyalty when we’re feeling lost, joy in the smallest things, and unconditional love when we feel like we’re running on empty. They ground us. They soften us. They make us stop, breathe, and feel again.

This expedition hasn’t just been about putting veterinary mental wellbeing on the map—it’s been about letting the animals lead the way.

To you—our incredible SuncoastVet followers, cheer squads, silent supporters, and loud cheerers: thank you. You've carried us, laughed with us, cried with us, and reminded us why we know animals. This mission only works because you believe in it. And in SuncoastVet. 💛

🌿 Day 13 – Deep in the Amazon Jungle with Ankuara 🌿

Somewhere between the tangled vines and the songs of howler monkeys, something clicked today.

We’re far from home—but strangely, we’ve never felt closer to it.

Out here, you realise nature has no filters, no fences, and no phones. Just raw connection. A mum and her baby monkey. A jaguar watching silently from the shadows. Families. Bonds. Unspoken loyalty.

It’s why we all get pets, right? Because in a world full of cold brick walls and hardwood floors, they’re the ones who keep us warm. They remind us we’re human.
