The process of ordering a portrait.

🔹Contact me to discuss what type of portrait you would like and the time frame.
🔹Send me as many photos of your pet that shows me their personality and features.
🔹Then I work with you to decide best photos to use for the portrait, the canvas size and background.
🔹Next I do a rough drawing often using three or four photos to highlight the best features & incorporate them into a sketch for you to approval.
🔹Once you are happy I start the painting, sending you photos of the portrait progress.
🔹When your painting is finished I will organize delivery.
If you are in the Brisbane, Sunshine or Gold Coast areas, I like to meet up and hand deliver your portrait.
If interstate or overseas I usually send by Air Freight (at your cost)

Cheeky boy “Xander” Pastel & Pencil portrait commission to match portrait of their first beautiful boy “Bailey”. Xander is full of life, he loves to play ball all day hides it under furniture and crawls under after it. So much fun to paint and capture his full of mischief personality. The client brief was the pose in one photo, his fur curlier like another photo & showing his cute tongue out after hours of play from another photo.

My beautiful girl Jess, who has been my faithful friend always by my side, is now 15 years old and has been diagnosed with bone cancer is in palative care with us under the guidance of a caring holistic vet. The aggressive cancer first showed up near her eye & took her sight in that eye in a week. Amazingly Jess is still happy and has good & bad days. On good days she is full of life wants to go for walks & play. On the quiet days I sit with her in my arms giving her reki massages, cuddles & listening to healing music & returning all unconditional love she gives us.

Dogs and deer of Japan.

Dogs represent security and protection and are often represented in Japanese folklore as defenders of people. Conventional principle states that inu possess the magical ability to deter demons and evil spirits.

Why are deer considered sacred in Japan.

There is a legend that in AD768, the first of the four gods of Kasugataisha Shrine traveled all the way from Ibaraki Prefecture North of Tokyo, to Mt. Mikasa in Nara, on a white deer. Thereafter, deer were considered sacred, and killing one was a death sentence.

“Charlie Bear” the cat. His breed is “Maine Coon“ mix. Delivered to lovely lady yesterday, very emotional. What a beautiful Christmas gift from a loving daughter. It gives me so much joy and satisfaction to see how my portraits are loved and cherished as a forever memory. ❤️🐈‍⬛❤️

Do you believe in magic? I do!
It started with a dream an old mirror from when we had renovated our bathroom, a secret garden,with a gate with a magical lock, a special secret key, opening into a world of pure imagination for my beautiful granddaughter Alice.. The old mirror had to be reloved, it became the gate, built to fit my painting on the back of the mirror the front was your reflection. I will always remember the look of wonder on Alice’s little face as placed the key in the lock….

Come with me, and you will see a world of my creation…….

Count to three 1. 2. 3.

And you’ll be in a world of pure imagination!

Murwillumbah, Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art centre. Have wanted to go there to see Margaret Olley’s rooms rehoused at gallery exactly as they were in her home at Paddington, Brisbane. To see her beautiful paintings again.
Which is you favourite Margaret Olley painting?? I love the amazing light she captures in her paintings. My favourite, look at the colours of light on the tablecloth. He rooms are an Alaidan’s cave of treasures, her paint pallets are interesting piles of paint. Apex cafe even had Yia Yia lunch for me, the view from the deck is spectacular. Loved it all.

Acrylic painting “Sand Shift, Caloundra” The acrylic painting started as one centre canvas then weekly or even every day the shifting sand changed the story. I took new photos of Bulcock Beach, Happy Valley joining North Bribie, Golden Beach and I had to add more. In memory of Charlie, the cat, a Christmas gift voucher from a daughter for her Mum has now become a portrait. With help from her Mum who only had a couple of old photos.
