๐ŸฆŽโœจ Check Out the Cool Bearded Dragon Who Visited Our Bradbury Clinic! โœจ๐ŸฆŽ

We had the incredible pleasure of meeting this awesome bearded dragon at our Bradbury clinic recently! These fascinating reptiles never fail to impress us with their unique looks and laid-back demeanor. ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ’š

So, why are bearded dragons such cool animals?

Friendly and Docile: Known for their gentle nature, bearded dragons make fantastic pets that are easy to handle.

Expressive Behavior: They communicate in quirky ways, like arm-waving, head-bobbing, and even "beard" puffing!

Low Maintenance: They donโ€™t require as much care as some other reptiles, making them a great option for first-time reptile owners.

Interesting Diet: Bearded dragons enjoy a varied diet of insects, veggies, and fruits, which can be fun for owners to prepare and observe.

Sun Lovers: These reptiles love basking in the sun or under a heat lamp, often striking some pretty epic poses.

Christmas can be a magical time for everyone
Who doesnโ€™t love blasting holiday tunes and soaking up the festive cheer? However, it's essential to pet-proof your home to avoid any holiday mishaps. Here are some tips to ensure your furry friends stay safe this season

๐ŸŽ„Secure Your Tree - While it might be cute to see your pet trying to climb the tree, itโ€™s not just your decorations that could be damaged if it falls.

๐ŸŽ„Pick Shatter-Proof Baubles - Hang these on the upper branches to avoid sharp shards if they fall.

๐ŸŽ„Keep Christmas Merry and Bright - Christmas light cables might look like fun chew toys, but theyโ€™re risky. Keep cables out of reach or use cable covers.

๐ŸŽ„Take Care with Tinsel - This Christmas favorite can also be a pet favorite, but for all the wrong reasons! From entanglements to gut obstructions, tinsel can cause serious problems. If you love tinsel, make sure itโ€™s out of reach!

๐ŸŽ„Keep an Eye on Candles - Lit candles add a beautiful touch to your decor but need close supervision to prevent burns or worse.

๐ŸŽ„Pining for a Real Tree? - If you love their classic scent and look, remember to sweep up stray needles to protect sensitive paws. Avoid using preservative products, as they can be dangerous to pets.

๐ŸŽ„Presents Under the Tree - Unfortunately, pets canโ€™t read gift tags and may not wait until Christmas morning to unwrap gifts! Keep them out of reach to avoid ingestion of wrapping or other hazardous items.

We hope you have a safe and happy Christmas

๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿพ Christmas and New Year Pet Safety Alert! ๐Ÿพ๐ŸŽ„

As we approach the Christmas and New Year season, itโ€™s important to be mindful of the foods that can be toxic to our beloved cats and dogs. Here are some common holiday foods to keep away from your furry friends:

๐Ÿšซ Chocolate: Contains theobromine and caffeine, which are toxic to both dogs and cats.
๐Ÿšซ Grapes and Raisins: Can cause kidney failure in pets.
๐Ÿšซ Macadamia Nuts: Known to cause vomiting, weakness, and hyperthermia in dogs.
๐Ÿšซ Onions and Garlic: Can lead to gastrointestinal irritation and red blood cell damage.
๐Ÿšซ Alcohol: Even small amounts can be dangerous, leading to intoxication, coma, or even death.
๐Ÿšซ Xylitol (Sugar Substitute): Found in many sweets and baked goods, can cause a rapid drop in blood sugar and liver failure in dogs.
๐Ÿšซ Fatty Foods: Can lead to pancreatitis
๐ŸšซCooked bones: Can lead to intestinal blockages.
๐Ÿšซ Certain Human Medications: Keep all medications out of reach as many can be harmful to pets.

To ensure a safe and happy holiday for your pets, keep these foods out of reach and be vigilant during festive gatherings. If you suspect your pet has ingested something toxic, contact us or an emergency animal hospital such as SASH, ARH or VSOS immediately.

Wishing you and your furry family a joyful and safe festive season! ๐Ÿถโค๏ธ๐Ÿฑ

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿถ A Close Call for Happy the Cavoodle! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿšจ

Meet Happy, the adventurous 10-month-old Cavoodle who recently had a very eventful visit to our Bradbury clinic. After being busted for munching on a macadamia muffin (macadamias are toxic to dogs!), her quick-thinking family rushed her in to see us.

Thankfully, we were able to induce vomiting right away. But hereโ€™s where things got interestingโ€”what Happy brought up was beyond what we expected! Besides the macadamia muffin, we found two socks, three makeup cotton pads, and two ear plugs. ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿงฆ

Happyโ€™s curiosity definitely keeps her family on their toes! Weโ€™re so glad sheโ€™s safe and sound after her snack mishap.

A huge shoutout to Happy's family for acting quickly and knowing the dangers of certain foods for dogs. If you ever suspect your pet has ingested something toxic, don't hesitate to contact us immediately. ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿฅ

Stay safe, and keep an eye on those inquisitive pups! ๐Ÿพโœจ

๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿพ Countdown to Christmas: Keeping Our Furry Friends Safe! ๐Ÿพ๐ŸŽ„

It's hard to believe, but Christmas is less than 2 weeks away! As we get ready to celebrate the festive season, let's remember that not all treats and decorations are safe for our furry friends.

Hereโ€™s a quick reminder of some Christmas foods that are NOT suitable for dogs:

Chocolate: Contains theobromine, which is toxic to dogs.

Grapes and Raisins: Can cause kidney failure.

Onions and Garlic: Harmful to a dog's red blood cells.

Alcohol: Even small amounts can be dangerous.

Macadamia Nuts: Can cause weakness, vomiting, and tremors.

Cooked Bones: They can splinter and cause internal injuries.

Fatty Foods: Can lead to pancreatitis.

Artificial Sweeteners (Xylitol): Extremely toxic and can cause liver failure.

Let's ensure our pets have a safe and joyful holiday season by keeping these foods out of reach. For any concerns or emergencies, our clinic is always here to help.

Stay safe and enjoy the holidays! โœจ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’•
