Last night we attended a property in georges hall, where the residents had sighted a snake inside. We dont get too many of these little guys but this snake turned out to be a Marsh snake! Marsh snakes are only a small species of snake and mildly venomous.

Today in menangle we had this little red bellied black snake sneak inside and then dissapear behind a cupboard, that cupboard led to a hole in the wall and as Dylan went outside to grab the inspection camera from the car, he could see a head poking out of the wall and out came the red belly. Sneaky bu**er tried slipping out the back while Dylan was busy.

"Year of the snake" started off with these little yellow faced whip snakes hatching on the 1st day of the lunar new year.

If anyone remembers a few months ago we attended a local high school where we removed a pair of whip snakes and one laid eggs whilst we held her over night, mum laid 15 eggs and we put them in the incubator at a stable temperature to ensure they had the best chance of hatching. 14 out of 15 hatched perfectly and we even had some of it on a live feed which you can still watch on the page if you missed it. Unfortunately one didn't develop right and looks like the old crazy frog character. Being able to see these snakes hatching was absolutely unreal as these guys aren't kept much in captivity and seeing the whole process is something that not many of us get to watch or even document.
All of these little bu**ers will be let go tomorrow to hopefully live out their lives in peace.
In the video you can see how the snake pushes its nose up against the egg and slides it sideways to be able to emerge from the egg, and the reason it splits open so easily is that they are born with a sharp little egg tooth in the font scale to be able to make the slice look so easy.

It's that time of year again when eggs are hatching and baby snakes are making their debut. Over the weekend, we had attended an estate several times for multiple brown snakes from a communal area. On one of the occasions we had attended, One of the residents thought it was a good idea to put the snake in a coffee cup while they waited for us to arrive, as they did not believe it to be a juvenile Eastern Brown Snake.

Despite its striped appearance, which can be misleading to the public, it is extremely common for them to be stiped/banded. Juvenile Snakes are just as venomous as adults, and this little brown snake still has the potential to deliver a fatal bite. The member of the public who decided to get it into a coffee cup was extremely lucky not to have been bitten.
the snake pictured below is one we removed yesterday from inside the common area.
Remember, if you come across a snake, no matter how small or harmless it may seem, always exercise caution and contact a professional for assistance.

Common sense reminder: you leave them alone, they leave you alone.

Yesterday afternoon, we received a phone call to attend a property in Glenfield where the family had been spending the afternoon gardening. They came across a snake. After arriving, Dylan was directed to the area where the snake was last seen. After walking to that section, Dylan immediately spotted the snake and informed the customers that what they had put their hands near was a DEATH ADDER!

These snakes are highly venomous and are also rated among the quickest-striking snakes on the planet.

Yesterday we were called to a property in Razorback to remove a brown snake that had been sighted near the chicken coop, On arrival Dylan had sighted the brown snake disappearing under the chicken coop so after abit of digging and lifting it was too much for just one person so after finishing one of our other jobs we had another member of the team head out to give a helping set of hands. After going through all the digging and the moving Dylan located 2 snakes sharing the chicken hide out. 1 Brown snake and 1 Redbelly that the homeowners weren't even aware of.
Safe to say our clients were stoked with a 2 for the price of 1 and I'm extremely proud of my team for the dedication and hardwork they put in to get this job done.

Apparently when shaun is out and about he doesn't read the signs too well!
Last week we were called to Bingara Gorge to remove an Eastern brown snake from a play ground, unfortunately it could not be located anywhere but there were plenty of hidey holes under big heavy concrete blocks that we just couldnt get under. A couple of days later and the snake was spotted in the playground again and we were able to get the staff to keep eyes on it the whole time so we could get in there and make the playground safe again.
Maybe we should give them some new signs to put up "Snakes be aware, snake catchers frequent this area and many snakes nappings have taken place"

Cheeky little bu**er we removed this morning from a property in kentlyn, decided it would stick around for a photo on release. This red bellied black snake was found taking a nap underneath the wheely bin, i don't think it realised that it was a waste of time hiding for a nap there.

Sometimes we get asked how many snakes we catch a day or how many jobs we do a day and the answer varies so much, especially when we are a team. Some days it can be absolute bonkers and some you will be sitting by the phone waiting for it to ring.
Today was a relatively steady day but I'm going to post the snakes that we caught today all at once instead of a few posts. We done a few inspections ontop of these catches aswell.

During the week we were called to a property in Ambervale where our clients had sighted their cat playing with a snake near there council clean up pile. We attended a short time later and lifted one of the items and like a bull out of a gate came this eastern brown straight over my foot and off he went, after a little game of run around the pile and back and fourth I was finally able to get this snake captured, assessed for injury and then put in the bag.

Can you find the Red-bellied black snake in the first picture?
Today we were called to and edmondson park property to do an inspection as the residents believed they could see a snakes tail coming out of the ground from the neighbours yard. Upon arrival we could see the tail inbetween 2 sleepers and it looked like it went into the ground, after jumping into the neighbours yard we could barely see the snake but we found it just resting in the grass with no care in the world, untill Dylan picked up the snake, then it wasn't so happy.

Dylan was able to get on site within 20 minutes and have this snake safely removed, upon release Dylan was able to get some good shots of the snake being cheeky and poking his tongue out 😛🤪🐍.

Today we were called to a buisness in Cobbitty as a snake had made its way inside and was making the staff feel abit uneasy and they decided it was best to give the snake and eviction notice and we were called into ensure the snake complied with the eviction. Snake did resist eviction but after a stern talking to from shaun, the snake decided it was best to come with us to enjoy a better view along the river.
