The beautiful Woodglen Dakiri is in for a few weeks prep as a 2yo - going through all the basic handling work as a check in, and learning some new work in hand and online, yielding and lunging. Also introducing her to baths, rugging, fly veils and all the other lifestyle essentials.

Iggy (EL Djiago) is in for a few weeks bootcamp as a 2yo - getting familiar with wearing the roller and bridle, and starting some mouthing work in hand, lunging and long reining.
Lovely progression over his session from the roundyard to the arena on the long reins!

Benita’s Equine Dentistry Services gave him his first dental and will continue to support him/us.

Whilst I’ve been hiding out of the weather this weekend and squeezed in one ride this evening once the sun was out 😆 some of the amazing partnerships I get the privilege of working with, have been out competing, which as we all know, is the tip of the iceberg on all the preparations that go on at home, and then the additonal uncontrollable and very difficult to train for factors of a comp environment.
I absolutely love getting their updates from comps that include the nice feeling their horses gave them in moments or throughout, and the parts they were proud of, regardless of the scores and placing.
I also love it when they do well on their outings too, becuase I know how long they’ve been working at improving that score, how many steps back there’s been along the way, how many comps didn’t go quite to plan, and the brainstorming and problem solving along the way. The determination and hard work that still has them compassionate towards their horses and trying their best to be a better partner.
I don’t compete a lot, and I don’t have lessons a lot, because I really feel under pressure in those situations. And I am always grateful for those I get to work with, that leave me feeling awed and inspired by the way they take away and build on what we work on in lessons, and go out to comps and put it all into place where it’s even harder!
Thank you 💗

Not just this weekend, but the year gone, I would love to see some photos from you guys 🥰

The beautiful Archie (3yo Clydie) went home after a couple of weeks prep.
Working on helping him feel prepared, that he can be ready in himself, for all the basic questions. Connecting his body up to be equally ready to move forward/backwards/sideways and whilst we love his calm demeanour making sure he is attentive in his relaxation, which also helps with the readiness.

James (Opus de Coco) has been ticking along well, a few months back in work after a break and finding some consistency in the lateral work.
We will continue working on refining the throughness, adjustability and positioning so we can start playing with the changes!

Pulling these clips together with the intention of showing our short step/piaffe development over time - but what I can really see is our partnership develop; as a rider and as an undersaddle horse, the communication, the apporach, the positioning, the overall understanding - our growth, indivulaly and together. And it’s just the tip of the iceberg ☀️

Peanut and Wombat had a little bootcamp with me - they’d had the basic handling done, and we travelled them over in a loose box as a calm first experince.
Over the course of their stay we played with yielding (both bending and moving the feet) forwards and backwards and sideways - tying, and grooming all over, float loading, and lots of catching and leads hanging.
We also worked a little with the flag to replicate higher pressure/energy and being able to focus and relax in those situations too.

Today they worked through the process of being caught, tied, prepared, float loaded, travelled, unloaded and led to their paddock, like champs! Could not fault them! What a great start they’ve had with their owner, and I am grateful to be able to have a play with them to help their learning along too!

Another successful Horse Shepherd Equine Sanctuary visit, with a young stallion of Woodglen International’s, who’d just completed his first 3 weeks of handling.
Worked all the obstacles like a champ, and realised with some reassurance that the fake cow, fake horses, and very real alpacas, weren’t going to be the end of him.

Lilibet loved her adventure over to Horse Shepherd Equine Sanctuary and was entirely unflappable around the obstacle course (and alpacas, donkeys, cows, sheep, birds, dogs… etc). What a legend 🤩 she’s looking for a new home and will be a superstar to bring on undersaddle as she matures!

Tashkent Djucati
Nov 2018 Blue Roan gelding, approx 16hh
Django of Cacharel (Friesian) x Sheza Pretty Wild Cat (Paint)
Registered Friesian Warmblood AFWHS and Baroque Sporthorse ACE

I had the pleasure of owning Djucati as a young horse, as a c**t, he was and still is the sweetest and kindest horse, with the most genuine nature.
He took to all the ground, lunge, long reining work very happily, sired 3 foals, went out to some in hand shows, and then moved up to Byron to his new home where he was gelded and started undersaddle.
He has no issues paddocking with/next to geldings or mares and is quiet around stallions also. He is very much a “people person” and not particularly interested in what other horses are up to. He thrives on his human interactions.
In Byron he was started undersaddle, trail ridden, and attended some clinics.
He has now been undersaddle for around 2 years, and with me since the start of the year, schooling and some outings.
He gives a beautiful connection, is light to the aids, soft transitions, good gaits, and is working through the lateral work with an established leg yield and learning the shoulder in, traver, half pass, renver, pirouette etc.
His introduction to obstacles was without fuss, and his first attempt at the working eq elements he was an absolute natural.
Djucati has no vices to handle (catch/tie/wash/load etc) or ride, is as forward as you ask him to be, and has great brakes. He would be suitable for most handlers and riders, provided amateur homes had a good network around them to help with maintenance/progression.
He is up to date with dentist, farrier, worming, vaccinations, and body work - he has some shape through the back so saddle fit is important, he gets great reviews from our body workers & equine physio, and good X-rays.
He is only for sale due to being itch affected in Byron.

Currently located SW Vic
Up to date with body work, farrier, dentist
$26###
See his album for videos and photos throughout the last few years
