THIS would cost NOTHING to our govt is simply adding a couple of cells to database for clients to fill in themselves online. I am So sick of seeing lost dogs where owners can't answer calls. Often away on holidays with phone off! By the time they get home, dogs done.
And there needs to be a central portal ( like hotel.com or such) that searches ALL Australian chip databases to match the vet trying to find the number of a dog who fell off a Ute, on the other side of a border from home!
Please share this everywhere, let's get a conversation going and get it changed.... get some simple stuff changed. It won't change itself, and dogs can't sign or vote

Don't let your dog eat the cob of the corn at barbecues...

HEADS UP;... it's CORN ON THE COB season!!!!!!! Corn COBS KILL dogs.. put all corn COBS in a bag and put immediately into the OUTDOOR trash can.... DO NOT let your dogs chew on the cobs or eat the corn off the cob... just the corn is OK,,, but NO COBS !!! when the cob is swallowed , whether in pieces, or whole,,,,, it can cause a bowl obstruction... and $$$ for surgery to save your dog ... Do not risk it... thank you...

We have them in Canberra now too. So please make sure your tick treatment, is not just tick treatment, apparently paralysis ticks require a special paralysis treatment. We learned that here in the middle of winter when my dog was returned from a weekend away with its old owner to the coast. Between the ticks and the Pneumonia she was returned ho.e with, I nearly lost my little girl.
My vet surgeon says there's only two tick treatments he recommends as successful against paralysis ticks, the one we are on now is bravecto. Please ensure it's not just ticks, but for paralysis ticks as well.

Meet Rupert. Male Cavoodle, desexed, 18 months, located Canberra.

Dear little Rupert is part of the large intake of Cavoodles we took in recently. He is a lovely little thing and is a huge fan of a snuggle. In his past life he never knew the luxury of a home or family of his own, but then he saw the couch. He has taken to home life and love like a duck to water and despite being very isolated in the past he'll now happily ride in the car, go to cafes and meet up for a game of chasies with his new friends.

What Rupert needs to thrive.

🐻 Another young, gentle and playful dog for company. This is non negotiable as he draws confidence from his foster sister and would not thrive alone.

🐻 An active family. He's only a baby but with time and confidence he'd be your buddy camping, running, swimming or kids sport on the weekend. He just wants to be part of what you are doing. No kids under 10 as he hasn't been tested with very young children. Or cats.

🐻 Someone home enough to finish his housetraining. He's made great strides and now can poo outside with 100% accuracy, his wees are still a little hit and miss. He is supersmart and it won't take long.

🐻 Rupert is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. He has a clean bill of health and a gorgeous coat. He'll require grooming every 8 weeks or so and weekly brushing.
