Day 1
Pros and Cons - Training for Action or Abstinence
As trainers and handlers of dogs we are often faced with a choice of training a dog to DO something or to NOT DO something. During this presentation and throughout the practical work we will explore and investigate why someone might choose one approach over another. We will break down the process for choosing what the appropriate course of action is as we consider the pros and cons associated with both. Our ultimate goal is to develop a complete training program based on intentional choices rather than one limited by knowledge.
*A 50 minute preparation video will be provided via email to all attendees making this presentation suitable for all skill and knowledge levels.
Day 2
Modern training gives us a massive array of styles, systems and techniques all capable of achieving similar outcomes. The very first step is deciding how you show up for the dog. Throughout this presentation we will investigate the pros and cons of various styles as we journey through being completely detached and training like a robot all the way through to being your dog’s ultimate cheerleader. Our goal is to understand and practice choosing the right input to give the dog to get the output you desire.
