UPDATE: Position filled - thank you all for your interest 🧡

Hi everyone.

We are hoping to go overseas for about a week in May - possibly from Monday 8th to Sunday 15th. We are looking for someone confident and capable to work for the dog boarding during this time. We would require the staff member to be at the dog boarding kennels between 8:00-10:00am every day, and potentially 3:00-5:00pm each week day (this afternoon shift may not be required) for pick up and drop off's. We MIGHT have the new kennels up and running by this time so it will be a really nice new facility to work in.

Daily tasks include:
Running/playing with dogs
Cleaning out kennels daily
Picking up poo
Feeding and watering dogs
General health and wellbeing checks
Medication provision (if required)

WANTED: An animal attendant for work from 15th to 22nd October!!

If you or someone you know would be interested in some casual, paid work for one week in October, please reach out.

We require someone confident in working with dogs of all sizes and breeds and someone who can also provide good customer service to our lovely clients.

Must be available to work every day from 15th to 22nd October from 8:00am to 10:00am and 3:00pm to 5:00pm each day.

Daily tasks will include exercising and playing with dogs, cleaning kennels, facilitating pick ups and drop off's of dogs and feeding and watering the dogs daily.

Full training will be provided prior to the work period.

Casual Employment Opportunity – Monaro Park Dog Boarding

Monaro Park Dog Boarding is seeking a casual employee to work as an animal attendant at our dog boarding facility in Symonston.

About us:
Monaro Park Dog Boarding is a family owned and operated business, established in 2011. Monaro Park Dog Boarding provides short and long-term overnight accommodation for dogs. We are a well-known, respected, and trusted dog boarding facility in Canberra with many long-term clients who appreciate the relaxed, outdoor nature of our facility, our ability to care for animals, and our central location. We have over 30 individual kennels in a variety of sizes, and we cater to all dogs, big or small.

About the role:
This is a casual employment opportunity which requires some flexibility. We are seeking an individual who can work on weekends (particularly Sunday’s), and during peak-periods such as school holidays and long weekends. There will also be further opportunities to work outside of your usual hours as agreed in advance with management.

This job requires an individual who loves dogs, but also has a strong ability to work with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. You must be confident in handling animals, whilst also having the ability to provide excellent customer service to clients who drop off and pick up their dogs. You must also be prepared to undertake physical labour, as you will be required to exercise the dogs, clean out kennels, carry buckets of water etc. You must be reliable and punctual and able to follow instructions well.
Daily tasks will include exercising dogs individually or in groups for 30 minutes at a time, removing dog faeces, daily cleaning and maintenance of kennels (including repairing any damage to kennels by dogs), preparing fresh food and water for dogs each day and providing medication to dogs where required. You will be required to check on the welfare of each animal every day; checking for any signs of illness or injury that require immediate attention. You will also be required to greet clients who are dropping off and collecting their dogs, take payments and do some minor administrative work (e.g. collecting forms from clients, logging daily feeds and medication etc.). It is essential that you are confident in handling and caring for all dogs, with different temperaments, and at times, be able to physically handle the dogs to return them to their kennels, check on their wellbeing or to protect them from harm. You must have access to a private vehicle as we are located on a farm between Fyshwick and Hume and there is no direct access to public transport. You may also at times need your vehicle to purchase supplies or in very rare circumstances, drive dogs to the vet.

Monaro Park Dog Boarding operates between 8:00-10:00am and 3:00-5:00pm Monday to Friday and between 8:00-10:00am on weekends. We are currently seeking a flexible individual who meets the above criteria and is available to work on Sunday’s and at other various times. There will be an opportunity for more regular, part-time work in the coming months as Monaro Park Dog Boarding expands with a new facility.

In addition to working Sunday’s, here are some upcoming dates that we will require an employee:
- 25-28 August
- 15-23 October
- Christmas period (15 December to 10 January)

We are still getting a large volume of enquiries about boarding availability this long weekend so we thought we should let you know that we are fully booked for the Easter long weekend and have been for some time. We apologise for any inconvenience and hope you find somewhere to look after your doggos this weekend!

To avoid disappointment, be sure to book in early for all long weekends and peak periods as we often book out in advance during these times 😊

Happy birthday to the boss man & animal whisperer 🐕 🎉🎈

If you didn't know, Josh's birthday (18th December) always falls on the first week of the Christmas school holidays, which means he has to work extra hard on his birthday to look after lots of doggos during the holiday season!

Josh is one of the kindest, smartest, and most calm people you'll ever meet and we all know how lucky we are to have him look after the dogs.

Josh has worked almost every single day for the last 10 years (including weekends and public holidays) to look after the dogs and we are so excited to expand our facility next year.

2022 is going to be a big year for us with a baby due in January and the building of our house and new dog boarding facility, so we thank you for your continued support.

Be sure to give Josh a big shout out next time you see him 👌
