🐰 Keeping pets safe this Easter 🐾
Easter is full of fun traditions, but some of them can be dangerous for our furry friends. Here are a few things to watch out for:
🍫 Chocolate & Sweets:
Chocolate is toxic to both dogs and cats, especially dark and baking chocolate. Xylitol (a sweetener found in sugar-free gum and candy) is also extremely dangerous for dogs.
🌱 Easter Lilies:
Beautiful but deadly—lilies are highly toxic to cats. Even a small nibble on the leaves or pollen can cause kidney failure.
🥚 Plastic Easter Grass:
Those shiny plastic strips in baskets are a choking hazard and can cause serious intestinal blockages if ingested.
🍽️ Table Scraps:
Rich holiday meals can lead to upset stomachs, pancreatitis, or worse. Stick to pet-safe treats!
🧺 Toys & Small Decorations:
Tiny toys, plastic eggs, or stuffed animals can be tempting for curious pets, but they pose a choking hazard.
✨ Tips to Keep Pets Safe:
Keep Easter baskets and goodies out of reach.
Decorate with pet-safe flowers like roses or daisies instead of lilies.
Supervise kids with treats and toys around pets.
Have pet-safe treats on hand so your furry friend isn’t left out!
Wishing you and your pets a safe, happy Easter! 🐣💐
