For those of you who are following along with Henry’s progress. We have been working hard to get him to be able to be neutral in sight of other dogs. With the level of reactivity he had we had to start with our own dogs and have the ability to also utilise some of our other boarding dogs too as things progress for him. Dogs learn things through pictures so starting here is a good start. Henry has tendency to be still highly aroused at times outside of home which we are continuing to work on separately as well

Welcome to Board and Train Henry. Henry is very dog reactive so before we even put a trigger in the picture we need to work on marker word recognition, and loose leash walking. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to get the marker word recognition to happen outside with normal world distractions, so we need to make sure we test those waters. The next stage is to be able to have him around other control dogs, to show him that the behaviour that he was displaying is not necessary, and it won’t change anything on the other dogs presence. One thing we are always telling clients is emotion drives behaviour, and if we are just addressing behaviour only then we may get a temporary fix, or shut down of the behaviour short term, but it will come back and sometimes worse. We will continue to post videos of this little guys progress. We don’t do before and after videos as I want to avoid another rep of the unwanted behaviour so you will just have to take our word for it. This guy could not be walked on the streets, no matter the distance without loosing his mind

As we closed our doors today for our Christmas shut down we were exceptionally humbled and will potentially put on a few kgs over the break 🤭 by the generosity of all our amazing clients that gifted to us and this isn’t all of it. We love working with you and your dogs and throughout the year and to watch them all grow in not only size but also ability to cope emotionally and in situations they couldn’t before brings a smile to all of us. Thank you for entrusting us with your dogs and although we can’t wait to see you all again when we reopen in January. Merry Christmas to you all

Update* - We have found a compatible donor. Thank you everyone ❤️

Doberman and Dalmatian owners 🚨🚨

Due to a rare blood type found in Doberman breeds that can cause them to be incompatible with most universal blood types found in our usual donor breeds, we are currently in URGENT need of a canine blood donor, ideally of Doberman or Dalmatian breed to help a very sick patient 🐶

They must also meet the following criteria to be able to donate:
- between the ages of 2 and 8 years
- weighing over 25kgs
- up to date with all vaccinations and parasite preventions
- in good overall health
- have not donated blood in at least 3 months

Our donor dogs receive a full health and blood check before donating and you will receive a large bag of food and some yummy treats as a thank you.

We have just been notified about an amazing person who is located just outside of Canberra who is doing some foster caring for dogs. We have just donated some food that was donated to us by our wonderful clients so now putting the call out. If you have any dog food that you are no longer using and it’s within date or would like to contribute to some food get in touch or drop into the venue with the food and we can pass it on.
