BATH TIME! 🛁🛁🛁

Let’s talk about the importance of bathing.

The skin is the body’s largest organ, serving as a protective barrier against toxins, bacteria, and UV rays. To maintain its proper function, it’s crucial to keep it clean, healthy, nourished, and hydrated.

Dogs go through a natural skin regeneration cycle that lasts about 21 days. After this period, old skin cells die and start to break down, this leads to dander, odours, and an increased risk of skin issues.

It’s a common misconception that short-coated dogs don’t need as much grooming or bathing as those with longer coats. In fact, ALL dogs should be bathed every 3-4 weeks using both shampoo and a high-quality conditioner. The skin’s sebum layer helps nourish and protect the skin so it is very important to re-introduce the oils back in with the conditioner after the shampoo stage.

All dogs at The Dog Barber are exclusively bathed in Iv San Bernard and Hyponic products.

As we reflect on the past year, we want to express a big thank you to all our lovely clients for your continued love and support. 2024 has been a milestone year for us at The Dog Barber—upgrading our salon, making exciting changes to the team and enhancing the experience that we offer to you and your furry friends.

Please note that we will be taking a short break for the holidays and we’ll be back in business starting from January 6th. We’re excited for what 2025 has in store and can’t wait to kick goals!!

Please note that in the new year, we will be making some important adjustments to our intake system. As part of these changes, we will have limited capacity for large clientele and will unfortunately be unable to accept new large clients moving forward. This decision allows us to focus on delivering the best experience for all pets while maintaining the quality and attention to detail we’re known for. More info to come in the new year.

We finally have colognes, shampoos, conditioners, detangling sprays and more available for purchase for all you pet owners who are looking to maintain a healthy coat from home 😍😍😍

Iv San Bernard are high quality products, only using the highest grade ingredients in their formulas. These products are suitable for all coat types and can even be used on cats and horses. 🤯🤠

A little can go a long way - these bottles might be small but it’s just the right amount to last you a long time. Depending on the size of your pet, you only need 1tsp to 2tbsp of products mixed with a 3 part water ratio. It is here that we believe “frothing” is key; using a emulsion blender (or something of this nature) you will be able to double or even triple the size of the mixture that you started with and with that, create a consistency that when applied, won’t run off the dog and down the drain. 🧼💯

And please don’t forget to condition and let the products sit for at least 5 minutes as this will eliminate the need for a second round of shampoo! 🫡✨
