✨🎄 Holidaaays!! 🎄✨

Thought I’d post my own freshly groomed girl this time. She’s definitely a groomers dog and was looking very grinchy 😅 Big merry Christmas to you all from Miss 🐶🐾

I have been absolutely spoilt this year 🥹 thank you to all my clients and friends, I wouldn’t be where I am today without you. I love my job and I love all your fur babies like they’re my own. So sorry to anyone I couldn’t get in before Xmas, I will be in touch in the new year to get you in as soon as I can. We will be back on the 6th of Jan. Until then, lots of brushing! 😉

It’s hard getting photos of the black dogs because sometimes they just morph into a blob with eyes 😂 but I managed to get some nice snaps of Jett today. Isn’t he just adorable?! This sweet man is such a dream to groom, he’s known nothing but cooperative care grooming and it really shows ✨

Keep your dog safe! 🥵☀️

With temperatures forecast to reach as high as 34 degrees this weekend, please don't forget to keep your pets safe.

RSPCA ACT has some handy tips on how to beat the heat this weekend and through summer:

🌬️ Provide your pets with a cool, shaded area with proper ventilation at all times.
🍧 Give frozen treats for your pets and frozen water bottles for your bunnies and ferrets to cool their bodies.
⛲ Mud puddles, splash pools, water misters or sprinklers are all good ideas for dogs and chickens.
😎 Avoid walks in the heat of the day - rather plan to go in the morning or evenings when it is cooler.
🧴 Slip, slop slap - get some pet friendly sunscreen for dogs with light skin and noses.
🥤 Consider putting out cool water in shady areas for wildlife, remember to put a rock or twigs in the water so the smaller creatures can drink safely without falling into the water.
🌴 Small animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, fetters, birds, rats and mice are highly susceptible to heat stress (which can be fatal). Make sure these animals are kept in cool and shady spots and provide cool treats for them to enjoy.

Meet Thomas ✨

This gorgeous man is super touch sensitive. We’ve had to figure out ways to groom him without the need to handle him too much, which can be hard. Luckily this guy does really well when he has his “junk food” as reinforcement. We’ve made such great strides in his grooming just through working on some desensitisation, counter conditioning and slowing things down. This allowing me to get to the point where I can touch his tail / bum area and front legs, which he would not allow in the beginning.

Just goes to show that positive reinforcement training is a major part of the grooming process! I’m so proud of him and his team, he has the most understanding and supportive humans and also a great behaviour vet that have all contributed in getting him to the point where he can be groomed stress free! 🧡

I’ve been super slack with my socials lately but I just found this in my camera roll and I had to share! 🧡

This is beautiful Tiger 🥹 when I first started grooming this girl she wouldn’t even come out of the house. She would completely freeze and lay on her bed asking to be left alone, because she was so scared. It’s taken a lot of work, training, food, games, and homework with her humans to get her to trust me, the trailer, and to understand that this doesn’t have to be a scary process for her.

I’m not gonna lie, I have some really difficult days with dogs that have a hard time being groomed and sometimes I wonder if what I’m doing is truely helping them… and then I have a day like this and I know I must be doing ok! The video shows her not only running out of the house and down to the trailer but also happily jumping in, ready for her groom 🥲🥰

Snow White 🍎✨

This beautiful girl is a little nervous when it comes to being groomed. She’s just started on with me, only having had a couple of slow gentle grooms to get her more comfortable with the process and already her confidence around it all is starting to grow. Sometimes these pups just need a little extra care and patience. She’s such a sweetheart 🥹

Luna had her first poodle groom today 🥰 She’s had two previous sessions with me, so today she was so relaxed and chill that she fell asleep mid groom 🥹
