🚨 Swoop! It’s Magpie Season in Canberra 🚨
Canberrans, you know the drill… the warmer weather is here, the flowers are blooming, and somewhere in a gum tree above you a magpie is plotting its next “surprise” fly-by. 🐦💨
Magpie swooping season is in full swing, which means our Happy Paws walkers will be keeping an extra eye (and ear!) out for those protective parents in the trees.
Fun Facts & Handy Tips:
Magpies only swoop for a few weeks while protecting their chicks.
Not all magpies swoop (we promise they’re not all out to get you!).
Walking in groups, avoiding known nesting areas, and keeping calm can help you stay off their “naughty list.”
Sunglasses, wide-brim hats, and yes… even those funny cable-tie helmet spikes can make a difference.
Don’t worry – our walkers are seasoned pros at magpie-dodging and will make sure your furry friends stay safe and happy on their adventures. 🐶✨
