Stay Alert: Snakes can be present in both natural and developed environments.

Maintain Distance: If you encounter a snake, give it space and do not attempt to handle it.

Leash Your Dogs: Keeping your dogs on a leash during walks can prevent unexpected encounters.

Know the Season: Snake activity typically increases during warmer months, especially from September onwards.

We are forecast a really wet one tomorrow so when the weather keeps you inside, don't worry – there's still plenty of fun to be had with your dog! Here are some rainy day ideas to keep your pup entertained and active indoors:

Tug-of-War 🪢 – A classic game to burn off energy and strengthen your bond.

Hide & Seek 🤫 – Hide treats or toys and watch your dog use their nose to find them!

Interactive Toys/Puzzles 🧩 – Stimulate your dog's mind with puzzle toys that challenge them.

Indoor Fetch 🏀 – If you have enough space, toss a ball or soft toy for a mini-fetch session.

Training Time 🎓 – Teach a new trick or reinforce old ones – a great way to bond and engage.

Our next cool tip: Cool coats for your dog, dampen the coat to use the power of evaporation to keep your pups cool & happy in these warm months.

DIY Toweling Dog Coat for Cooling 🐾❄️

Help your pup beat the heat with this simple evaporative cooling coat!

What You’ll Need:
A large, lightweight towel
Scissors
Measuring tape
Needle and thread (or fabric glue)
Velcro strips or ties
Steps:
Measure Your Dog:

Length: From neck to tail.
Girth: Around the chest and neck.
Cut the Towel:

Shape it to cover your dog’s back and sides.
Leave room around the legs for easy movement.
Add Fasteners:

Attach Velcro or sew ties at the chest and under the belly to secure the coat.
Wet and Wear:

Dampen the coat with cool water (not freezing) and wring out excess.
Secure it on your dog, ensuring a snug but comfortable fit.
💡 Tip: Use a bright or reflective towel for extra visibility!

It's hotting up out there! So we thought we would share some fun ideas through the summer for good ways to give your pups some enriching and yummy ways to cool off. Starting with a recipe for pupsicles!

Frozen Dog Treats - Pupsicles
Ingredients

For one pop:

- 2-3 chunks of raw grass fed meat
- a few blueberries
- 1 probiotic capsule powder (talk to your vet first)
- bone broth to fill (can get at your pet shop)
- 1 edible 'stick' dehydrated turkey tendon, chicken foot, green bean, whatever!

Instructions:

Depending on the number of popsicle molds you have, your number of ingredients may differ. This recipe is for 1 pop.

1. Add meat and blueberries to popsicle mold. (Add probiotic powder (if using))
2. Fill with bone broth
3. Put in an edible 'stick' of your choice
4. Freeze until solid

Notes:

Feel free to adjust the recipe according to your dog's preferences!
