Hey everyone! We're super excited to see you all at our Member's Training Day tomorrow! 🎉

Just a few quick reminders to keep things running smoothly:

First horse on course at 9am sharp in both rings, so let’s be ready to go! We've got a great turnout, so it's important to start on time.

Be prepared to walk the course promptly during height changes to keep the day moving.

As usual, we'll be using the whiteboard for both rings, so stay aware of where the classes are up to so we can keep the flow going.

Since it's a training day, neat casual attire is totally fine. Just make sure your footwear and tack meet EA rules, and that your helmet is tagged. Remember, it needs to have the EA yellow tag (Pony Club tags won’t be accepted). If your helmet needs tagging, see Sue West.

Looks like it's going to be a sunny day, so don’t forget to slip, slop, slap! 🌞

See you all bright and early and we hope you have a great day! 🐴✨

A message from the ACTSJC Committee.........

Congratulations to all riders for their performances at the recent Eric Haltiner Competition. The day was cold but it was very good to see that most riders were in correct competition attire. Both our judges commented on the excellent dress and saddlery which met EA requirements.

As a mark of respect to judges, other competitors and volunteers it is very appropriate to present in correct, neat and tidy riding clothes and to spend some time ensuring your horse is groomed on the day. EA rules state that collars and cuffs should be white and secured at the neck, particularly if a tie is not worn. Jodphurs should be white or beige. It is also etiquette to come out to walk the course dressed for competition. In our cold climate it is perfectly reasonable to wear a warm coat but helmets should be worn at this time.

Finally just a further reminder that dogs must be on leads and that they are not permitted in the competition or practice areas or below the pipe fence whilst the event is in progress.

Next month we have a training day which is not a competition. Riders must wear riding attire which meets EA standards but no need for white or beige jodphurs and competition shirts and jackets.

Thank you to all our members for helping us to maintain an excellent standard at each of our training and competition days.

We need 1/2 people that can spare 10-15 minutes at the start and middle of the day to help keep our officials fed, refreshed and happy!

We need:
1 x person to arrange for tea/coffee/hot chocolate orders at the start of the day (approx 8:50am) and to gather officials lunch orders and hand them in to Steve at the Coffee n Snack Shack.

1 x person (or same one 😃) to then collect the lunch orders from Steve and deliver to the officials at approx 12:30pm.

The guys at Govern Images are kindly sponsoring 4 x sportsmanship prizes at this weekend's Winter Classic.

Our judges will choose 2 x riders per ring that display sportmanship throughout the event who will receive a free 16” x 20" print.

What is sportsmanship?

Good sportsmanship is defined as being respectful to event officials and organisers, other competitors and their families, and all horses and ponies. It is also helping out without being asked and being supportive of all fellow competitors.

We're very happy to sponsor 4 x sportmanship prizes at this weekend's ACT Showjumping Club Winter Classic!

Each winner will receive a free 16" x 20" print of their choice from the entire Govern Images catalogue of albums past or present.

Winners will be announced Sunday evening.

Do you have experience with JJD? Or, are you a competent IT user 💻 who would like to learn to ropes to help us out on the weekend?

JJD, or Jumper Judge Dashboard, is the relatively simple electronic method of pencilling that the Club uses. It's a great volunteer skill to learn and you will be supported to learn how to use the program, please you will be fed and watered!

If you are able to help out or keen to learn, please DM our page 😄
