While their family was away these guys had sleepovers with their grandparents ❤️ They’re a little too energetic on the walking front though for Nanna and Grandpa. So thats where we stepped (see what I did there) in.

What was your first job? Carer at a Dog Motel and Cattery

How do you unwind after a busy day? Dogs, dirt and music. Good tunes playing while I walk my Tazee and Floyd, preferably on a dirt track somewhere.

What do you enjoy most about what you do? Absolutely everything. There is no such thing as a bad day when you’re a pet chaperone!!

What’s something about you that we’d never ever guess? It seems to surprise people when I tell them that I love metal music.

What’s your favourite animal? Up the top would be dogs for sure. But my close second would be echidnas, pelicans, lions, elephants, platypus, rhinos, tigers, kookaburras, horses, bears, gorillas, bees, giraffes, rabbits, cats, cows, kangaroos, parrots, alpacas, lizards, turtles, polar bear, fox, wolf, koala, panda, hawk etc etc etc 🐶🐱🐭🐹🐰🐨🐻‍❄️🐼🐻🦊🐯🦁🐮🐷🐽🙊🐸🐤

What was your first job? Teaching Dance

How do you unwind after a busy day? I like to have a warm shower, do my facial care and watch something good on tv.

What do you enjoy most about what you do? I love it all!! I really love watching someone’s much loved pet be a part of their special day.

What’s something about you that we’d never ever guess? I can dance and sing.

What’s your favourite animal? There’s too many!!! If I did have to choose though, it would be Border Collies.

What was your first job? Deli Assistant at Coles.

How do you unwind after a busy day? I like to hang out with my dog and have a quiet drink.

What do you enjoy most about what you do? Seeing the look on the faces of the bride and groom when they see their special guest of Honour arrive for their big day.

What’s something about you that we’d never ever guess? I love listening to Celine Dion (Lee and Kellee have a never ending argument of who is better Celine or Whitney?), I also like reading up on the Royal family.

What’s your favourite animal? No second guessing there, DOGS of course.

What a year it’s been!!!!!

Award wins, charity donations, pet sitting, honeymoon home visits, proposals, venue visits, open nights, wedding industry networking, memorial services, work experience and of course chaperoning at so many glorious weddings.

Kangaroo Valley, Corin Forest, Bewong, Robertson, Jervis Bay, Gundagai, Wagga Wagga, Wollongong and of course our beautiful Canberra. We’ve loved travelling near and far to be a part of your beautiful day with your furriest besties.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks & Pets - please plan carefully for your pets; fireworks can be terrifying and sadly, thousands of pets go missing on NYE every year.

* Please keep all pets indoors. A panicked pet will often find a way to escape by digging, jumping or climbing.
*Bring all pets inside early, especially cats.
* Flashes of light and noise can be scary for pets, so close all windows & blinds to help block out noise and light.
* Create a safe place in the house and play some classical or calming music. Remove breakable and sharp items. Put bedding and blankets in there. Leave television and music playing in different rooms to help mask the noise of fireworks.
* Use this post as on opportunity to make sure your pet has a current identification tag and that your microchip details are up to date.
* Exercise your dog before dusk.
* If you are concerned, your vet can prescribe medication to reduce anxiety but your vet must prescribe this. Do not use human medication.
*Try an Anxiety Wrap or Thundershirt. These are a type of jacket that applies a gentle but constant pressure on the dogs torso which may have a calming effect on the over stimulated nervous system. These help some dogs more than others. Please only use this under supervision.
* Ask friends or family if anyone can pet sit for you - this will give you peace of mind knowing your pet is safe.

We have been called many things, in reference to chaperoning, caring and loving on pets - crazy dog ladies, animal adorers, the chicken ladies, fairy dogmothers, the ‘rones. We love them all!!!

However we were given another name this year, which bought us to tears. We were told we are their KAHU. This Hawaiian word, meaning protector, guardian, honoured attendant that holds a duty of care for them.

Congratulations to all the newly engaged couples that have used this wonderful time of year to pop the question.

We are Lee and Kellee, Guest of Honour Pet Chaperones. The TLC, transport and loving care of your pet to attend your wedding.

We cover Canberra and surrounds, South Coast, Snowy Mountains, Riverina, Southern Highlands and the Southern Tablelands.
