Our new year is nearly here, (2025) and we will be running our educational clinics - Kids Club (8-12yrs)- after school and on Saturday Mornings, starting at 8.30 (1 hour Individual or group)
Our Ladies Day will still be Wednesday and Friday mornings between 8.30 - 10.30. starting 15/01/2024. Morning tea supplied. This will be extended as it gets cooler. $110
Horsemanship/Ranch Learning with your horse will be on Saturday/Sunday mornings. 8-11.30 a.m. $150. Horsemanship ridden clinics will be held twice a month. The main focus will be learning to trust your horse (young or old), confidence to improve and raise your own level of training and riding. In the clinics you will be teaching yourself and your horse to pick up the correct leads, stopping softly and backing up softly, how to travel straight, teaching you and your horse how to turn around, working through shying, working together to side pass and work through various obstacles, working through different patterns to suit each level of the rider. Every 3 months their will be a mock show held, (trophies/ribbons and an opportunity to learn about the rules, and what the judge is looking for. Throughout the year, there will be different clinicians that will be available for clinics. An exciting opportunity to work in a safe working enclosed indoor and outdoor arena. Fully insured. Located at Mongogarie, (15 mins from Casino) Please inbox us to be placed onto the clinic list. See you in the sandpit.

What's the difference between Animal-Assisted Therapy and Animal Therapy?
The answer is nothing, according to the Animal Assisted Services sector (AAS) here in Australia as well as globally - but according to NDIA, DSS and Bill Shorten there is a difference!

Therapy should only ever be delivered by a registered health professional.

This use of terminology is out of context with industry definitions and is representing a significant risk to participants, service providers and plan managers alike. As ATL continues it's advocacy journey to have "Animal Therapy" removed off section 10 of the transitional rules. Please help us by completing our surveys!

How to advocate on behalf of NDIS participants:

1. There are many different professionals who are fully insured working alongside selected animals in delivering supports to NDIS participants.

Check with the NDIA to understand where your professional registrations and qualifications sit within the PAPL and NDIS rules.

2. Ensure your invoices outline your qualifications or specialised expertise and are consistent with participant goals and funding

3. If an invoice is rejected on the basis that “animal therapy” is not an NDIS support. Contact the plan manager and reiterate that you are delivering an NDIS accepted support in accordance with the NDIS rules and request payment. Send links to NDIA FAQs or relevant communications.Try to resolve it directly with the SC and PM

4. If still not paid, lodge a complaint with the NDIA. Report any behaviour that would constitute unconscionable conduct. The NDIA are responsible for the performance of plan managers.

5. If your invoice meets the NDIS rules and the invoice is still not being paid, lodge a complaint with the Commonwealth Ombudsman.

6. Promote plan managers who are better informed to participants.

7. Reach out to other parts of your community to outline the benefits of your services eg: disengage learners, children who won’t engage with mainstream supports.
