Meet Our vet team
🐾 Dr Lucy Charleson 🐾
Clinic days: Tuesday to Friday

This week we caught up with Lucy to see what she has been up to. On the weekend she enjoyed walking her dog Bessie (cavalier king Charles spaniel) in the spring weather, tucked into some delicious meals with her friends and relaxed with one of her favourite books.

We asked her what interesting cases she had during her work week? Lucy had a cat who had serve anaemia. Anemia is a rare condition that occurs when the body doesn’t produce enough red blood cells, leading to fatigue and weakness which can lead to other health conditions if left untreated. The only treatment is a blood transfusion. Anaemia in cats is usually associated with the feline aids virus so the best prevention is vaccination.

We asked Lucy what spring means to her, Lucy is looking forward to the warmer weather the longer days, blooming flowers and Halloween! she wants to remind pet owners to be cautious with treats and chocolate around this time as they can be toxic if ingested by our fur babies.

It’s so wonderful to see Eli, Rob and James out walking in the bush, the beach and the streets of our town again as they all recover from what has been nothing short than intense and committed.
We are lucky as a regional town to partner with specialists such as GARS 🐾 ❣️ enjoy the freedom Eli❣️🐾
You really are brave and resilient x x

This week Dr Yvette, nurse Merinda and the CVC team had a special referral from Berkeley st Kindergarten this week …
3 cows and a little pig found themselves in a bit of trouble … after a thorough work up including X-rays these 4 cuties were safely returned to their home, new legs in tact. All four are recovered and full of stories to tell the kids. What a special kindergarten to initiate this care❤️. It made our week that extra bit special 🙏🏽 🐄 🐮 🐖 🐄
