Situated in Catherine Field, only one hour south west of Sydney, Field to Feast Farm is 5 acres of vegetable goodness. We specialise in heirloom veg and herbs, and other unusual varieties bringing a wider range of produce to your table every week. Laughingly, we say, we only sell greens, but when you see our range of produce you’ll quickly note the bright and vibrant colours of our unusual produce

. From a nutritional standpoint, everyone should eat a rainbow every day. With produce from Field to Feast Farm, that rainbow tastes amazing, and also varies from meal to meal. We have rainbow chard with its yellow, orange, pink and red stalks. Radicchio in all shapes and sizes, in deep lustrous burgundy, tinged lime green and white. Our own rainbow carrots, a product of cross pollination, that blush purple on white tips, red with orange centres, or sunny yellow from tip to stem. The endive with it’s sunny yellow heart fading to white before the deep green frilly tips! Over the course of a year, we grow approximately 120 varieties of herbs and veg each and every variety taste tested to ensure you’ll come back for more.

Trying my hand at sourdough…the weather here is perfect for fermenting foods. This first loaf is a little dense, obviously I was over eager to get it in the oven. 😂 The discard batter was amazing though. Just a spoon of bicarb to give it fizz and away you go. Light crisp and tasty. Better than any batter slaved over to date. Horta from Hapi’s fresh greens, and sweet potato skordalia to round things out. Breakfast was a feast!

Five mins from home…the western side of the city waterfront this morning looking out to the islands. This village is Sopu, and you could easily walk to town from here, the path is flat and this is as busy as it gets!

For months I’ve wanted to document the changing colours and weather as I drive along this road to go shopping, but there has always been an excuse to put it off. Today I picked a spot, pulled up, click click click with the iphone and it’s done. Not perfect, but the start. Some days the sea is wildly turquoise, others deeply black. Wish me luck in keeping up with my mission 🥰

A happy hopa (plaintain) mistake well worth repeating! Usually I steam green hopa to make a kind of taco shell, this time though they were too ripe and after steaming and blitzing the result was a sweet puree. Eggs were thrown in to thicken things up and a dash of vanilla before cooking onlow for about 10mins. No added sugar, no flour, and just like lemon butter, just less tart. And before you ask, ripe bananas would not work the same.

We’re coming home in May for a short visit, and our home will be available for short term rent while we’re away. Just hanging the hook out there in case anyone may be planning a trip to Tonga and need accommodation.

We’re 5mins drive from Nuku’alofa and the water, so centrally located, yet nestled amongst our own tropical forest. The church behind us has an exquisite choir and we are ever happy to hear them sing. There’s a resident kittykat, and Hartley of course to keep everyone loved up.

House is large and well equipped for everyday living. Hopefully by the time we leave we’ll also have wi-fi connected

DM if you are interested 😍🌴🌺

It’s a tropical depression…January has been one sweaty mess. I’d like to say hot, but that’s not right. It’s moist. Super moist. And awful. Humidity sits around 80% or more, and the dew point is around 25c, a new factor needing exploration.

I wash the dishes, then need to change. Turn the stove on. Change. Sit for a bit…realise I stink. I’m wet and not in a hot M**F way at all! At least tge views are pretty 🥰

Our Story

The home of the #bargainbox Field to Feast farm was started in December 2007. A small 5 acre farm in Catherine Field, and we grow a wide range of vegetables, herbs, and greens...toss in the occasional fruit. We don’t use any sprays or nasty chemicals, and apart from when the recent drought bit hard, we practise drylands farming. Yep...water or irrigation. This ensures our produce has time to grow slow, and develop wonderful flavour.

Our #bargainbox has been a big hit and we love changing up the produce on offer. Each week the box starts with a base of certified organic fruit and staple veg like potatoes and carrots. Then we start adding in flavour with a varying array of vegetables, salad, greens and herbs. On top of all this we give you a tray of beautiful, fresh free range eggs from a local farm. If there are mushrooms in the box these are the only items not organic or spray free.
