A reminder during this hot weather & leading in to summer.

HEATSTROKE

Heatstroke is a serious condition that can progress quickly and lead to organ damage, seizures, or death.

Heatstroke is more likely to occur on hot, humid days, and can be caused by exercise, being trapped in a hot place, or even just sitting somewhere warm.

Signs of heatstroke dogs include:
Excessive panting
Trouble breathing
Drooling
Fast heart rate
Vomiting and diarrhoea
Disorientation and weakness

Animals with flat faces and/or thick coats are more susceptible to heat stroke.

❌ Never leave your animals in a vehicle on warm/hot day – even with the windows down. A parked car is like an oven and temperatures can reach extreme levels in just a short period of time which can be fatal.

Pets can get dehydrated quickly – have plenty of fresh, clean water available. Make sure your pets have a shady place to get out of the sun, be careful not to over-exercise them, and keep them indoors when it’s extremely hot.

Today we went from 3 down to 2, as little Bruce (on the left) went home with his new (very excited) family.

As much as I miss the puppies when they leave, it’s so nice to watch the joy on the new families faces as they get to take their beautiful puppy home with them, to begin their adventures together.

On Sunday we got to catch up with Obi-Wan and his family.
Obi is from our Willow x Tommy litter from@last year, and Hazels litter brother.

What a handsome, well mannered and incredibly well loved boy he is. It makes my heart happy to see how our puppies have grown and how happy they are with their families. 💕
